Watching how spontaneous and bold you are with your art is very inspiring and fun. I was in suspense the whole time not knowing what you were gonna do next lol. I am impressed that you were able to persevere through it all (on camera!) This is truly one of your best videos and illustration yet. 👏🏾
I really love your use of depth in your paintings!! It makes them feel so unique. And I really like how brave you are with your work. I would have been scared to ruin it, and would have left it as it was right before the green pizza stage (which was fine but what you got in the end was so much more fun!) But throughout this the fact you liked what you were making reminded me how personal art is, and how it only matters if YOU the artist actually like your work (as opposed to always second guessing and trying to please anyone other than yourself). It makes your work more awesome! I'm glad you like your work, hearing you say so made me happy!
I really like this artpiece! I like the contrast between sweet kids sharing pizza together and the unsettling color of cheese. And sad purple face doesn't let the viewer to pretend that "there is nothing wrong with them".
I know you said you hate transferring a sketch to full scale paper but I would absolutely love a video on your process for that. It's something I'm interested in and every time I try I end up just frustrated and never happy with the results. Any kind of methods or tips and tricks on that topic would be so appreciated because there's so little about it out there.
Lol I was so scared when you added the marker shadow below the characters and the dripping 💦💦 but it definitely added to the piece ❤ I've never tried markers over watercolor so I should give it a shot. I don't find the green pizza unsettling, I think it made it look more magical 💕
I've been really enjoying watching your videos as I've always felt the need to blend seamlessly and perfectly etc and watching you embrace the blooms and splotches etc is so inspiring 🫶🏻 thank you 🩵🩷💜
Oh every time you try something you are not sure about I'm like "oh, she's gonna ruin it" but every time it ends up coming together. You inspire me to try and be more spontaneous too
It’s so nice to see your progress on how more relaxed you seem with your process! I remember you would worry so much during your process but you seem so much more relaxed here! I’m glad for you ❤
Haha I'm with you on the transferring sketch to full-scale paper being the most tedious part of the whole art making process. I hate it so much that I actually use projector especially for larger scale artworks. It's a little awkward at first because you have to sit or stand on the side of the paper to not cover the image from the projector with my body, but you get used to it. At least I can put in rough sketches on the paper and work in detail much quicker, which I actually do enjoy. 😂
This was so exciting to see in my notification box! I love all your videos, but your illustrations in particular always stop my heart. This was thrilling to watch, especially with all the bold choices you made! The end result was so cool. Thank you for sharing the process of this beautiful piece with us!
I love watching your spontaneous process. You take your time to finish each illustration and that makes me feel less anxious when I don't finish a "perfect illustration" asap. ❤ Idk why I wanted to eat the pizza until you talked about the meaning of the illustration 😂
I love your art so much, and i love watching your process!! every time i watch your videos i get inspired to draw. You should do a video on your supplies and/or recommended supplies or brands !! :)
Your characters would be great on fabric. I'd buy to create a fabulous quilt. Your style miss unique and many would love to purchase on fabric to make quilts for their granddaughters or other favorite peeps. Something to think about.
Just curious, how do you transfer your sketches onto the final paper? I only ask because the lines are so neat but also so lively and charming! I feel like that's a difficult effect to achieve when tracing
I also liked how you went it with different mediums, for some strange reason I limit myself and if I'm working with watercolors I'm like NOPE I CAN'T USE COLOR PENCILS I HAVE TO DO THIS WITH WATERCOLORS ONLY which is dumb, but Imma try to change that
i had the same mentality for the longest time, until I realized that these tools are there to help you create your art to your level of satisfaction 😂 if i can make my artwork more easily with it, why impose those arbitrary limitations on myself??
lol, I'm gonna devour all this love offered to me, but to be honest, it's making me sick!! I can relate! 🤢 Love that pop of yellow at the bottom. Enjoyed this - thanks!
The green is really fun with the pinks and purples :) Is the yellow for the second shadow a highlighter color perhaps? It looks like it through the camera and is probably not going to scan well but those bright colors are so pretty in person :D
Seeing you being spontaneous with your art made me happy. I remember how in your old videos you used to talk about how you couldn't be spontaneous and how you wanted to play every single detail and not be too bold. Glad to see you feeling a bit more free with your art process
I used to print out a flipped/mirrored version of the drawing, trace it with graphite, place it traced side down on the painting surface and apply pressure to transfer the graphite onto it!
Hello! I love your art so much! If you don’t mind me asking, how do you figure out a realistic sense of lighting in an imagined scene? I love your sense of light and shadows and I would love to know how you map that out? Awesome video!
thank you! hmm i'm not sure i would say this piece has a very realistic sense of lighting, as I worry I may have been a bit inconsistent with it. But I usually try to imagine the light source coming from a single direction and casting the shadow in the opposite direction, if it's direct lighting (indirect lighting would have softer shadows). Designing the lighting really depends on the mood I want to aim for the piece! I think for this it didn't require the lighting to be dramatic, just enough to model the forms in a somewhat convincing way that gives some sense of depth in the space ^^;; hope that helps!
@@ChrisHongArt thanks for replying! That is helpful! Do you ever use references for trickier lighting or do you rely on your own knowledge of how light and shadows work? In my own artwork, I’m worried i get too caught up in making the lighting realistic to the point of being too reliant on reference-which is very difficult when wanting to create an imagined scene that doesn’t necessarily have a reference. I guess it’s good practice to build up an understanding of basic lighting/shadow concepts and apply them to the best of your ability to the imagined space? Thanks again!
Great artwork! I really liked when the pizza was white, it was the center of attention and at the same time it was homogeneous with the rest of colors! the green accent I feel is too harsh

thank you so much! i was also in suspense the whole time during the marker stage 😂
You were so brave with your choices 😭😭 I can feel your pain but at the end a very beautiful painting was created, incredible work !!💘💘

@@ChrisHongArt and thank you for taking time to read it too! 😊 Have a wonderful day! 💕
Turned out so cute! So interesting seeing you use alcohol markers on top of watercolours - a combo I never would've thought to try!
This one is so fun! I think my instinct would have been to go with yellow for the cheese but I really like how the green turned out!

Blanche Fisher Wright! that's who your style reminds me of for some reason.
oh neat! I love all those old school type of illustrations
Did you use references to develop you original Idea? Also in the beginning sketch stages? Great Illustration

AI could never make pizza look so cute yet delicious. This is so cute! AI = 0/10 Humans = 100/10

yes it probably is a highlighter type of colour, which is a shame that it doesn't scan very well! thank you!
Notif gang 🤌🤌
Oh! Kintsugi is the art of breaking pots and fusing them back together with gold adhesive!!!! So the stickers are supposed to match as a pot
Seeing you being spontaneous with your art made me happy. I remember how in your old videos you used to talk about how you couldn't be spontaneous and how you wanted to play every single detail and not be too bold. Glad to see you feeling a bit more free with your art process

Omg love this are you going to sell prints so gorgeous ❤

How do you transfer the drawings to the watercolor paper? Is it just a pencil drawing or is there more to it?
so nice
I heard you mention scanning this immage. What scanner do you use? Any recommendations? Thanks
where do the other 2 slices come from since there is only 1 slice in the pizza missing.
Hello Oscar
Great artwork! I really liked when the pizza was white, it was the center of attention and at the same time it was homogeneous with the rest of colors! the green accent I feel is too harsh
