I've read positive comments about this for quite a while now, but, it seems to be like all the other k-dramas I've seen. It contains all the familiar tropes: rich kid meets poor kid, bullying that should land kids in jail, ridiculous accidental kisses, absent parents and teachers, someone gets sick, medicine, highschool kids and alcohol, mean girls, misunderstandings and miscommunications.
Hollywood isn't the only movie industry guilty of lazy, formulaic writing.

Yup, you got that right. It is a remake of Boys Over Flowers/ Meteor Garden after all. However, I did like this version a lot more than the other two though I have to say. I don’t know why, it just feels a lot more realistic (well, as realistic as a drama can be) It felt a lot more serious as well. Also, I really got to like Thyme over time.

To all the ppl who wanted her to be with Ren, i understand. They are cute. BUT...I think they are better as best friends. (Gorya Ren and Kaning. The nicest and strongest people.)
I think Thyme was a better fit for her. 1st I think Gorya is a little to agressive for the type of person Ren is for them to be in a romantic relationship. Both her and Thyme are agressive but Gorya is also nice and caring so she can handle him when others can't. ( That was shown when he was still bullying her.) 2nd Yes, he was a bad person before, but that was because of the influence his mother had on him. Even though his mother showed him how to act badly, the love and care from his friends, sister, and the maid that had been with him since he was little, he knew what love and care was he was just taught not to show or care for those feelings. Meeting Gorya had helped him be able to let all the love and care he had for the people around him out. She taught him that loving and caring and being nice to people isnt something that makes you weak. He even learned how to forgive and sincerely apologize because of Gorya. Thats why I liked the conversation between Gorya and Thymes mom. She helped her see that she really did do everything right for him except for not showing Thyme her love and caring for his happiness. Thats litterally all she was missing. (With everyone really.) Starting with her son she started caring about the people around her and those who helped her. (Thyme also getting stabbed because of her was part of her changing her thought process of how to do business a little.)
