a group of us from work went and spent the night at the Myrtles, a few of us were smokers and early risers and sat on the rockers on the back porch, one of the gals took some pictures of the area and when she got the film developed she caught the kids playing in the trees and Cloe going from the old kitchen to the house, made our day next day but had no ghost visiting us that night.
How fun is that?!? Love that nightly Southern swampy frog chirping… perfect ambiance for a Louisiana plantation. I grew up in backwoods Florida… similar, except you had a gator or two trying to eat your leg also. 🐊😳🐊
I'm actually here now on their wifi, staying in the Fannie Williams room. It has the porcelain dolls on the mantle. I've invited ghosts, but nothing. I'll come back tho, it is nice. Just not scary enough
Love you video. I can see ghosts and you managed to captured at 7:44 in your video during tour a child ghost. Ghosts often distort an image that appears dark or cloudy and when the frame is slowed down to a single picture at a time you can see them. The Ghost appears along the left side bottom corner where a woman is covered in a dark cloud that appears to be a ghost child-a girl. I would love to see more footage from your tour away from the 3 split frame because i believe the appearances of the children follow the tour through a few rooms.
Omggggg we stayed at the new cottage and had a night of horror. I could barely sleep. The porch of that cottage where the girl tap danced was where we were. There was something so scary abt that porch and a little along that walk way. When we sat dwn to dinner in the cottage it was lovely. We had a nice nighttime walk and it was interesting and we enjoyed the demented ducks 😂😂. Anyway, sometime really late 1AMish, IT changed. I felt watched. I could barely go near the front porch or the window.
I've stayed multiple times but all in the main house except once when we stayed in what used to be the old horse stables before that part burned down. After that is when the cottages went up. There's no telling what was on that spot back then, but there was obviously something, and it's not resting. Lol, I'm gonna have to book that cottage and see what happens.
@@TheTravelingGilberts We’ve done the evening tour a few times, and I’m thinking I might be able to convince my wife to stay in the house overnight. Sort of like a bucket list thing. Lol. We love it there. Last time we did the tour some of the ladies who were staying upstairs overnight invited us up just for a look around for a few minutes. We visited with them a while, took a few pictures, it was nice of them. Yeah I think maybe some time later this year. I understand the rooms have to be booked well in advance.
I have no idea why this house attracts so much attention. The story they tell during the tour is a half-truth, my father spoke to the former owner years ago and he told him "Well, I ain't never seen a g**damn thing." After owning the house the property for decades. The house itself is near delapidated and there are much bigger, better and well-kept plantation homes in this state, but most of them don't slap a "Most Haunted in America" sticker on their advertising. They do have a great giftshop, though.
@lepapercastle I have had an experience or two here. We don't live far, so we have been here many times. I do love the Myrtles, and the home is still beautiful. Yes, it needs some work, but none the less still gorgeous. I did like it better before all the additions, though. We actually live in an old plantation home and have had many experiences. We do a live show on Saturday night, and some people come just to catch the orbs in our house. Lol
visited a few years ago , didn't spend the night but it was dusk. My g/f walked across the pond on the bridge nothing out of the ordinary , came home looked at the photos -- she was completely covered in a white misty fog . A few months later my g/f died of pancreatic cancer . I just get the creeps whenever i think of it
This place is legit too. I’ve stayed there 3 times and weird stuff happened each time. The last time, I didn’t feel welcome and something was watching me, felt threatening! Don’t plan on overnighting again lol.

The frogs were so loud that night! Ambiance is the perfect word for the Myrtles. Everything is so old, the history, the decor, the stories....

Do you remember which cottage in particular that you stayed in? We are getting ready for another trip so wanted to book it and vlog it.
