That looks like a traditional Korean instrument, the geomungo. It looks like it's slightly modified. I was surprised to hear a sound like that. It's such a compelling sound, so overwhelmingly compelling that I wondered what kind of instrument it was.

Hello, good to see you again with KARDI . As you saw before, they met in the TV show Super Band 2 in 2021. The last round just before they decide final team member, DJ Hwang Hyeon-jo asked Kim Yeji to be a member. They brought Hwang Lyn (guitar) and Park Da-wool (Geomungo : Korean traditional string instrument). The performance of these guys was a Legendary "Legends never die" by "Hwang Hyeonjo team" Meanwhile, Hwang Lyn teamed up with Bass guitar Hwang In-gyu and drum Jeon Sung-bae before "Legends never die" stage. In the very last final decision, Hwang Hyeon-jo decided on the team with the other members, and Hwang-lyn accepted the bass and drum, resulting in a five-member band, KARDI.
