It is electrically tripping so check your tonearm cancel switch, and your mechanism switch stack. Such that it opens the circuit after it trips the first time and allows only the tone arm switch or back door cancel switch.
Definitely your clutch- all 4 clutch adjustments must be done precisely- use feeler Gauge and take your time- the only way to get at them properly is to take of record magazine- after doing all 4 adjustments lubricate every where you can see a moving part-your trouble would be that the safety plunger is not being locked properly- which is part of the clutch operation- so it thinks it hasn’t got a record and goes through the whole cycle again trying to find a record - hope this helps - all the best from Tasmanian
I know this is an older video now but did you figure out what the problem was, like others asked? Was it the clutch? Having basically same issue with an SS-160.
did you sort this, did you clean adjust the contacts that the lever lifts, is it possible to get a video a bit lower down so we can see what the mech levers are doing in relationship to each other, cheers

I just got one from a barn.played good at first. Now don't pick up records anybody know how to fix it?

Take the records out and blow it up? J/K Seriously, though, I'd look to see if the Reject button is somehow stuck.

Clutch isn't dropping in

Mine picks up the record starts to spin with needle in place and it quits after a 1/4 turn. Any suggestions?

Nevermind I figured it out, it is the clutch mine was bent so I put an eraser in it
