The fact that she also uses the idea of a "jealous sea" and its "waves" as a simile to describe the feeling of jealousy is another layer that makes me think about this song regularly. Yeah. Been listening since I was 15. Meg is just jaw droppingly talented, and even more evidently so, in her live performances. She performed this song, and others, live for the Tiny Desk Concert and it was unbelievable. She can tap into so many different vocal ranges on command, and this song displays that so well.

What are they saying at the very end? One of my favorite video's of all time. I cannot even explain the connection I feel to every frame, note and lyric. And I have not been in any kind of relationship like what is depicted here for over 40 years. Yet the first time I saw/heard this it hit me like a fist to my gut and took my breath away. I could never see such an explicit feeling in images. Meg's commotions bring something dark and at the same time bring pleasure. Yeah. Been listening since I was 15. Meg is just jaw droppingly talented, and even more evidently so, in her live performances. She performed this song, and others, live for the Tiny Desk Concert and it was unbelievable. She can tap into so many different vocal ranges on command, and this song displays that so well.

Take Me to the Disco is one of the greatest albums I've ever heard from beginning to end. Daughter in the Choir and Sorry are also exceptionally great in their own right. Hope you enjoy it all!

Once again..the raw honesty of her music captivates me.
What are they saying at the very end? One of my favorite video's of all time. I cannot even explain the connection I feel to every frame, note and lyric. And I have not been in any kind of relationship like what is depicted here for over 40 years. Yet the first time I saw/heard this it hit me like a fist to my gut and took my breath away. I feel it each and every time I watch it.
This song hits different. Maybe because I suffer from abandonment issues, jealousy, obsession, and the true horror of what you think you really can do. Meg has all this in just the first shot of her face. I know that look so well. And I love how she overcomes it all by effectively flipping off the world. Limo, walking, dancing all alone after the bar scene. She doesn't need anyone. But makes it clear her sexuality is raw and will take the right man - even giving him the permission to tell her what to do. Insanely deep to me.

I could never see such an explicit feeling in images. Meg's commotions bring something dark and at the same time bring pleasure. Agony for having to feel this sea of jealousy, but curiosity to put yourself in a painful place of revenge and novelty. A feeling that could be surrounded by taboo, but only she could show it that way.

And I regret about that NOT ALL her watchers see and understand, how much she get emotional and physically tired on the stage during performance. Not all understanding, how hard her job is.

the way she covers her mouth and has a general sense of panic all while spinning out is how it feels to lose control when you fall for someone. It's like the Devil takes control and ruins your life right in front of you, but it's necessary because it wasn't much of a life to begin with and so he is really helping you along; hit bottom sooner rather than later sort of thing.
