12ftChain! So clear, finger patterns and patient exercises…without constant chatter! I am Walking back in after a very long absence … have to say this is the premier guitar learning channel … Get It Right and Get Down To It! Santana - the pro’s all want to get this one right, with feel!
This tune (1970) by Santana on the Abbaxis album is one of the main reasons that the electric guitar has been a favorite instrument of mine. Great tone, dynamics, and use of volume definitely piqued my interest as a youngster 😉👍 Thanks for covering what should be a staple of every guitarists repertoire 😎👍❤🖖
Thanks for all the extra material on Patreon, When you first started 12 Foot Chain I couldn’t really follow or play very well. Now I can. I’m really appreciating the detail and method of your teaching to help me improve.
This is why your channel should grow a whole lot more the fact that you put in the time links to where if you just want to learn a certain part not every single piece of the song
Yep, he played SGs with P90s during this period (see the movie "Woodstock"), and also Les Pauls. And while most people rightfully admire his lead work, he was and is one helluva rhythm guitarist, with a distinctive Spanish language flavor to his phrasing.
Heard a three piece band play this sans vocals, at a "school assembly" back around 1973. They had a guitarist using a Gibson ES 345 though a huge Kustom amp (No distortion/overdrive pedal, just amp volume for sustain, Fantastic tone with minimal distortion), with 4-15" cabinet, an organist using a Hammond B3 through a big Leslie cabinet (he held down the bass part too), and a drummer using a big set of Ludwig Vistalites. They absolutely nailed the song, using NO p.a. system and filling the auditorium with sound. Granted, they were very good musicians and they all took lessons and studied music. But young musicians today couldn't possibly do that. Which is a real shame. These were high school guys! Not even eighteen years old yet!
Nice... but the bit after the intro at 7.00 is wrong he uses a two note phrase not one note if i remember correctly as it has been a few years since i learned this it is octaves it is interesting that very few can hear this.
sometimes subtle I think, but I think of distortion as the more "bee buzz" sound time of hard clipping on the sound wave. I feel like overdrive is a more full sound . difficult to explain, but if you look up differnce between overdrive and distortion pedal sounds on youtube there are probably a ton of videos that compare and could explain better than I can.

Great job brother... Peter would be proud.
I am always learning something new every day. Whether it is at work or on play, for me guitar is always my hobby. Thanks!!!

Fab lesson. Great the way you analyse the nuances in the song. Entertaining and instructive 👍
Wow! Another great lesson. Thank-you!
Love that SG! Wow!!!!!!!!!!

Great one again! Look forward every week, see what you’re gonna do. Thanks a lot. Keep‘em coming, I will be checking it out.
another great one.
good one! love it!
Great Lesson!!!!!!!!!!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
One of my first picking leads I learned but this made it clearer - I was playing wrong.
VERY COOL 👍👍
That woody SG tone is on the money
Nicely done! No comment on the most important feedback part in rock history?
Gabor Szabo was great!!!
Great, now do Peter Green Black Magic Woman.
I’d be all over that lesson.
I learned Oh Well and Green Manalishi by Peter Green.
Would it be possible to have some charts/tabs for each section of the solo…on screen? Thanks
This ones for Peter..🚬😎

Good
Wow, that SG sounds awesome! Is it stock?
It is, it's a Captain Kirk Douglas Signature SG model. www.gibson.com/en-US/Electric-Guitar/USA19H701/Ebony
Another fine job...What's the difference between "overdrive" and "distortion"...

Am I the only one who hears Am7?
It would be preferable if the tabs were displayed.
Which level Patreon has the tabs? Doesn't show.
all of them do
Do Peter Green version. I think it is much better, not knocking Santana....
I’m in for that!
I learned Oh Well and Green Manalishi by Peter Green, two other wicked songs.
@@kerryfromaj9032 Peter Green wrote Black Magic Woman, not Santana. Santana version has way to much Latino vibe in it and ruins the song IMO
