Recorded off WBBY in Westerville, OH. A station with a rather interesting history itself. Majority stockholder William 'Wild Bill' Bates had a restraining order imposed on him by other shareholders--one of whom was his own son.
Marty Brennaman going over the lineups--when he gets to the first-baseman 'Willie' for the Pirates (3:02), you can hear him almost say 'McCovey' by mistake ('Willie Mc...'), then he catches himself and says 'Willie Stargell.'
Brennaman (31:19) short-changes Perez on RBIs in the 1975 season, saying he had 103. He actually had 109, just one fewer than Bench. They were # 2 and 3 behind Luzinski in the NL that year. (Edit) Going over Fred Norman's stats for the day, Nuxhall (2:37:05) says he allowed 4 walks; it was actually 5. Impressed that they provide a pitch-count total for Gullett from the previous game (2:41:08).
Im listening to this on what was supposed to be Opening day 2020 but because of Corona Virus im imagining im 13 years old agaiin!! Hopefully there will be a 2020 MLB season someday
One slight correction: Nuxhall only did play-by-play for the 3rd and 7th innings, not the 4th. Which means the middle entry for Brennaman should also be amended to 4-6 rather than 5-6.
OK I'm catching a theme here... Little over a month away from turning 7 and beginning my early love affair with my Phil's. Listening to this because I'm a nerd gettting ready to start a 1976 replay with Stratomatic
great to hear Marty and Joe call a game again
Those were the great days of baseball
Joe Nuxhall yelling "Get out of here! Get out of here! Alright!" behind Marty Brennaman's call during Reds home runs.
Simple days of pure baseball. It's good to be 11 yrs old again
Yeah. Good to be 5 again😂

I was at this game.

I hope so too, on condition they play at least 70 regular-season games. Even that's well less than half the number of games in a full season.
...But without the ninth inning, I believe! For fans of Pittsburgh they should be thankful!
A leadoff double by Zisk for the only hit off Eastwick, then three quick outs.
The rest of the inning: Parker F-6; Hebner F-6; pinch hitter Robertson F-3.
Funny moment at 2:06:00. Did you add the "Thanks a lot," or was that on the original broadcast? Love this, by the way!
The Hargraves Haha!! I wish Knoxville still broadcast the Reds...

Do you have either of the other games in this series, either with Cincy announcers or Pittsburgh announcers?
garlitscomcastnet Game 3 was on TH-cam in its entirety, but I can’t find it currently. It was Marty & Joe. Hope it reappears.
I was at game 1. Went crazy when Gullett hit the home run
OK I'm catching a theme here...

All that hitting and no pitching…..
