Great video, just what im looking for. My problem is opposite of yours. With neck mounted into position, bridge saddles wont go high enough to get the strings off the neck (around 12th fret. Could I use one of the tapered shims and put the wider side toward the headstock? I have tried two different necks (cv squier and one from sams guitarshop on ebay) and both the same. Any help appreciated. Thanks! The body is a new genuine fender telecaster and I’m using the vintage bridge and saddles.
Shimming the front of the neck pocket will lower the saddles. Shimming the entire neck pocket or the rear of the neck pocket will raise the saddles. Shims work both ways. I hope this helps.
@@guitarcollectorguy it did. I am going to order some shims . I was worried about messing up but the only way to really learn is trial and error. Thanks keep the vids coming, its good stuff
these are good videos friend, keep up the good work.
Glad you like them! Thank you so much.
Check to insure that the saddle height matches the neck radius.
If the saddles are bottoming out on the face of the bridge plate - neck radius does not play into the equation.

Love your Tele Color, which build is that one? I see your neck is fender, but the fretboard do not have lacquer, that is cool, which neck is that one?
It was a build with a warmouth body. Some sort of sparkle gold/orange that is a cool color.
