this came out in dec. of 2019. i was familiar with the band right from the point of inception in early 2017 and was well aware of their capabilities in their live performances. but to those who were new to LOVEBITES in 2019 i read quite a few comments then about how they did not think they could pull of that solo section live. as we know not only CAN they do it live but absolutely nail it. there is nothing they have recorded that they can't play live. you might hear an occasional backing track of a piano or keyboard or even a choir - see glory to the world - but it never dominates the song. it's used in key places and only sparingly to give the song a more complete feel as in the recorded versions. but what you see and hear on stage is 99% pure live LOVEBITES. imo THE most perfect live band i've ever seen. well , hope to see anyway. in the next tour of the states i pray they come to the northeast. because i just might not be alive for the next tour after that. i may have to go bucket list and just spent the bucks to get to them.
When Asami says 'This is Us' she Means it. This is the band's Anthem, about their struggles to make their way in 'the business' - and their commitment to fight through whatever pain and difficulties to be successful. She had been saving that honor since 2017 for use when she wrote a song “devine” enough to bear the band’s name. Miyako described the track as melodic speed metal. Recognizing the song as representative of the band, Asami wrote the lyrics about its five members. 🤘

Head-splitting solo madness, crazy rhythms and the whole choice of visual theme were thus only appropriate! 🙂If LOVEBITES tell the world "This is us!", you know they are bringing it. 🤘But while I freely give them that, the stratospheric scream Asami conjured up at 8:02 was probably not to be reproduced. Too crazy!
