@@frapollo94 tbh this one I'm mad at Miro the most for. Like when I do stupid stuff relying on RNG and because of that I end up dying? Funger's spaghetti code, istg.

Ideas for new bugs for Miro to add: The game deletes a random file from your computer every 23 minutes Recruitable Enki doesn’t follow commands in battle once you enter a blood portal 9 times Eating cheese has a 1/6 chance of causing all party members to get the toxic status effect applied Your computer explodes sometimes If you recruit Girl and Moonless, Moonless will have the brainworm status effect applied If recruitable Ragnvaldr hits 50 mind, everyone gets panophobia If your part has the miasma, bonesheers, purified eastern sword, and the cursed blue sin equipped together at the same time, all weapons in your inventory are deleted
Ideas for new bugs for Miro to add: -A spider in Mahabre-Streets (present) -Two damaging insect tiles in the Ancient Tower - A dung bettle (unique encounter for the Bloody Toilet) -The Cockroach Queen
Every single Trotur bug has happened to me. The one where here captures you while sleeping even if you already gave him Buckman is particularly funny, as it's in character for Trotue to betray you, since he literally commends you for beteaying Buckman. I thought that one was intentional. The two extra Light blue Vials were nice though.
19:05 bug in the video where Frapollo94 refers to Nas'hrah as Isaiyah (which is funny cuz the bug he was talking about right before was where the game replaces na'hrah's name with isaiyah while inspecting a statue)
Oh shit thank you! I was one of the comments that asked for a glitches video, I appreciate this a lot, this is sick. Good work, and thanks for reading the comments.
37:51 I have to imagine the Crow Mauler hides inside one of the Barrels and somehow this mental image is so funny to me, i cant stop grinning. Maybe its the Text. The Crow Mauler sitting in a Barrel and waiting, gets randomly hit by a stray Arrow and just doesnt care.
I once got a Schrödinger's Buckman glitch where the game thought he was both alive and dead at the same time. It made completing the quest where you save his entire group impossible, because the Gaunt Knight would just stay in Mahabre. Buckman himself would stay standing in his cell alive while his corpse was simultaneously in the other room. It was super weird, and I never managed to replicate it again.
Fun fact that die in front of a door to lock you from using it is still in Termina! Guess who had to reload a save because I couldn't open the door to progress because a soldier died in front of it
Honestly, I live the little bugs. Small mistakes in an indie developer title as high effort as this helps remind us about the sheer amount of effort it takes to actually develop a system, and I think helps to remind us that those behind the things we love are ultimately just people, prone to error.
Be careful that isn't the question (I agree with what you wrote tho), the question in other words is, if the game had no bugs would it still be Fear & Hunger? Or does it solely exist cause of the bugs?
for the majority of the time of this video i was thinking by miself “So this was a bug all along?”, thanks frapollo for give away your sanity to make this video
So excited to watch this. Hope the glitch where you get the map #3 and run from isayah’s battle multiple times and the cutscenes just repeats until he doesn’t appear and your locked in a cutscene that doesn’t work. Soft locking your game. Learned that the hard way on my Cahara S ending run.
A few bugs I think are kind of charming, like the 'prevent status' accessories curing it instead, , or the leg sweep door thing. These feel like an arcane knowledge check. But overall I agree with you, the game would be better with the bugs fixed.
When my friend introduced me to this game and I realised that it is made on RPGMaker, I immediately knew what I was in for. I ended up finding the infinite lucky coin spot myself, which made me insanely happy, cause that's exactly the type of thing I was expecting to find
I think that Fear and Hunger is a testament to how much people are willing to put up with for a unique selling point. This thing can can be basically anything, be it an uncontested quality in something, a novel concept in its mechanics and design or just a personality through its presentation and/or writing, that cannot be matched. This is a concept that transcends genre and demographic alike. Games like Alpha Protocol, some of the OG Final Fantasies (Then again, that was a different time, but even then, those games were fucked), even some higher profile examples like Skyrim or Cyberpunk 2077 prove that even more mainstream audiences will tolerate a game being a patchwork, ramshackle mess of a game, so long as it gets just the right things down. I suppose that segues into my feelings regarding the question of "Are the bugs part of the charm"? Simply put: No. Fuck no. Fear and Hunger is an amazing game *despite* its glitches, not because of them and quite contrary to that statement, I think what the glitches and oversights of this game represent are in opposition to it's actual strengths. There are other issues I'll get to later that I think the bugs of this game contribute to, but even at a base-functional level, the ways in which this game barely works is indefensible. By this, I primarily mean the litany of crashes and soft-crashes (Like the screen freeze), which when tallied together, create a rather reliable probability that during a sitting of this game longer than 1 hour, you'll have to hard reset the game. With how the screen freeze glitch in particular is so haphazard in when it occurs, I couldn't even imagine trying to beat this game on Hard Mode without some bug-flxing, either on my own or via fan-patches. Then there's simply the fact that so many of the design oversights and glitches compound one of the game's biggest issues for me. "Knowledge is power" is one of those canned words of wisdom that get thrown around when in defense of F&H's design decisions like coin flips and brutal status conditions like critical state. I agree with this sentiment, though for me, it's more like "Knowledge is OP as fuck, nerf plz". Y'see, I feel like Fear and Hunger has this problem of being trapped between two extremes. You either don't know and the game feels unfair and overly punishing or you know and the game is a joke in terms of difficulty. This game is so exploitable, even without the glitches, that it is very easy to just trivialize everything. I usually don't mind that, but this is a horror game. I think horror games that rely on challenging the player like F&H kinda does need to be unforgiving, but the amount of things you're given to just completely pub-stomp even final bosses like Francois and Sylvian is ridiculous. However, even with all these tools, something like Hard Mode could still manage some tension, as your whole playthrough can fall to a simple mistake. That's where these glitches really show their ugly side. The amount of unintended advantages you're able to accrue just by knowing which glitches to exploit just completely saps any and all tension from the game. Once you have to start making arbitrary self-imposed rules to not exploit the millions of bugs in the game to keep the game challenging, any and all sense of real tension and fear that might be instilled into you goes out the window. This is why I think people should play Fear and Hunger relatively guideless on the first playthrough, because after you look below the surface of the iceberg, the dungeons are no longer the same. They stop being the place of horrors and nightmares, but a roguelike dungeon hack you plug at every now and again. You owe it to yourself to see these dungeons as what they truly were meant to be, not what they become to you once familiarity settles in.
I got two more bugs to offer. The first one: if you saw a skeleton arm in the cave from the sergal spear your game will bug and you will never be able to access the inventory again for the rest of the run (you literally can’t press Escape) UNLESS you reset or access to the hexen (this is because you need to press escape to get out the hexen). The second one is not a bug, but the sprite of the uterus when it is looking up and in other every position is the same, so… you really will never know if its looking behind his sprite or not
I've watched a ton of lore videos, seen playthroughs of various endings, and played a bit myself (but never finished the game), and this is the first time I've ever heard of the cockroach king
funny how some bugs kinda seem like a logical mechanic. Like fracture healing overtime with normal characters but skeletons can't regenerate their bones and are permanently fractured
30:28 that's actually my first coin flip of my first run ever and that happened that made me think that i needed to have TWO coin flip right with the lucky coin to get the item, my brain was like "oh so you have less chance to get something but maybe it's a better item" i didn't know about coin flip attack back then (i didn't know anything about the game to be honest) and when i saw the elite guard doing one (it was my first battle ever) i was so confused that made me open the wiki for the first time X) love this game man
Huh, I actually tried a cursed scimitar once and was suprised when it didn't work on ghost. Didn't know that was a bug, thought I missed something about cursing weapons...
Cahara not staying behind when D'arce is in the party is kinda funny. Head canon now is that Cahara's thought process is "Women.... I must keep going!"
I was kinda surprised I didn't see it but there's a bug I've encountered with the Crow Mauler where I killed him before going to Le'garde's cell and when I went to the cell it still triggered the event where the Crow Mauler breaks through the wall but because he was dead his corpse just sat in the rubble.

Hey Frapollo please get lots of rest after yesterdays stream, it was I think my favourite stream of yours. It was fun and we got a Mompollo cameo and even though your voice was destroyed you still where super entertaining and fun to watch. Fell better
Heya Frap been a while since I tuned in I finally got around to this video after catching up with content Ive been missing for the past three months and I just wanna give a wholehearted thank you for introducing me to Fear and Hunger an indie game that despite all of its flaws and glitches quickly shot up to being in the top 10 video games I've ever played in my life Its been a journey with you and no sentiment or phrase on planet earth can express how much fun I've had seeing you do crazy challenges teaching us a few things on how the game works showing us the glorious yet hideous spaghetti code and so much more It all started with Funger then I seen you move on to other games (in the way you used to do before Funger started popping off) and I think thise Funger videos honestly made me appreciate you and your personality more since we got to see you outside of the confines of a game that hates you - and it feels empowering to see anyone like you go from "just the one game" to "I am now every game, I own every game" - its growth that I got to see out of a channel I had been rooting for since the first vid I've watched I felt the need to yap like this because truth be told I've seen your replies detailing the fact that our Funger journey is coming to an end And this ending feels just as liberating as the time I completed not just Funger 1 but also Termina mostly by myself (and when I say "complete", I'm talking every ending with every character) I can really keep going but I'll sum it up beautifully: I'm happy you can finally leave the Dungeon and get an "Ending E" that actually has a happy ending (since we both know for a fact Funger 3 will never come out and neither will the update to Termina - not that Termina had that much more going for it imho)
33:12 a fun fact for this is that this is a limitation of rpg maker itself, 2 events not being able to activate at the same time Why you can even see this on another game in this channel, MGQ Paradox!
This game really needs a QoL update to fix all the bugs, give 16:9 native screen support and additional options in the menu for going fullscreen automatically when the game boots and for closing it.
yoooo, I'm just getting back into fear and hunger and watching all the vids I missed from you in my absence, and you drop a vid that's nearly an hour just today? I have been blessed
You should try out this one Survival Game Don’t starve, I have a feeling you’ll like it, the game doesn’t have a Tutorial so I will try to give a brief one, make sure to collect Twigs, Grass, and Flint to craft Tools, you use the tools to create a Science machine which you then use some rock to make Electrical Doodads which you use to make an Alchemy Engine which by this point the start of the game, the whole Point of the game is to beat Either Ancient FuelWeaver (shadow monster) or Celestial Champion (The Moon)
I gotta agree with people saying the bugs are part of the charm. Considering this was a solo dev journey, these are the small mistakes made during a long journey. Feels like going through the "Beginners Guide" again. Playing a game made by someone else and you see the small touches here and there, things that changed, the random things that they never considered to happen. The small cases where things break in unintended ways. It makes the game feel more personal.
Hi, while watching this I remembered about some bugs I found while playing: I somehow triggered a battle with the cavedweller with a spear while on top of the platform where the pocketcat usually spawns, the other is a similar one but it happened with one Embryo on the left side of the library while I was on the bottom floor facing the wall, I guess it's about the enemies hitbox but it was actually hilarious, it feels so illogical (btw the video was great, I really enjoy your fear and hunger guides and challenge runs, I have no idea of how do you find the determination to do all of that but im thankful for it)
Love this videooo dude, i cant believe you made it so fast, i remember commenting the last video for this, and you already made this a video, completely insane so much quality for so little time per video
Hey Frapollo I got my TH-cam creators of the year, and guess who was on top, I’ll give you a hint, they’re name starts with Fr and ends with apollo good job keep up the great work. Also when’s the crow mauler kissing stream?
Frapollo thank you for introducing me to this game series recently I finished a run of fear and hunger 2 for the first time and had a great time overcoming the odds of the game
I Really wish someone who knew how to Code REALLY Well, would go through and fix the first Fear and Hunger, and also add a "JRPG" Mode to it, so it plays more like a normal JRPG, "aka fighting isn't a TERRIBLE idea" id still have a hard mode where a flip of the coin could put you in a VERY bad way, but it would also be cool for there to be spells to regrow limbs and stuff, if you get far enough along... basically just a more Casual way to enjoy the beautiful/horrible Story, Art and World of F&H, without feeling so absolutely Maulding at every fight, because you got really far, couldn't save in time and a Guard turned your Tight End into a Wide Receiver. i mean, not saying take out the Original mode, either. but i don't see how it could hurt. it would get a LOT more people into the game, and id love to see the series continue to grow and get more and more funding so it can be bigger and better. not at all asking for an "Easy mode" like the "Game Journalists" keep crying about Elden Ring/Dark Souls Needing, though. ive completely beaten F&H, but id still love to play it in a more General JRPG way, so i could enjoy it more, instead of stressing over it as much, every time i wanted to play it.
the "gotta go fast" bug actually happened to me when i got hit by an arrow from ballista guard in prisons and then fixed it by getting hit by arrow in torture chamber. this game is hilarious 😂
I don't know if i was very unlucky, but when i played Funger for the first time i had the freeze screen happening way too often, it was like every 10 to 20 min which led me to give up on the game, i knew the game for its reputation, so doing a reset because you die was normal for me, but i wasn't a fan of resetting because of a freeze, so i never replayed the game, tho now i know a lot of it thanks to your videos
4:28 AHAHAH There were only one single time when Mind Binding affected me and I was Marriage, and ALL THIS TIME i thought that it is just how this skill actually works And that make sense, it is a Mind Binding not some Mind Attack or smth, maybe it is a bug when this skill does NOT affect your max mind
Frapollo finally getting a sponsor :’) you truly deserve more for all the effort you put into your videos! And I believe that bugs in games are almost inevitable, especially indie games made by one person/a very small team. Fear & Hunger is a good game despite its bugs, not because of them
The charm of this game for me is how knowledge is the most important factor, knowledge of bugs kinda plays into it, but I'd rather have more intentional weird niche mechanics, than the very useful but actually bugs and either op or unfair.
quick question in past mahabra when the lord of flies kidnaps u and puts u in a cage and u escape from it u can see a door with with white writing around it , can it be oppened and if yes what is hidden behind it ?
Honestly there's one quote from All-Bones Jones about F&H1's buggy ass coding that always sticks with me and motivated me to try and be a bit more responsible in delivering video games as projects and keeps my passion burning a little brighter. "Note:If Miro can make a game, Why can't you"
As someone who used RPG Maker back in the early 2000, I'd say Funger is fairly huge accomplishment for an inexperienced solo dev, despite the bugs. Miro has an unstoppable will because he did several things the very hardest way and didn't give up.
Love your videos man, been watching for a long time now, you inspired me to play fear and hunger. I mega appreciate the hard work you've been doing! Keep it up Brother!!
This game is held together by paper glue and one singular sacrifice of a chicken to an unknown faceless deity in the woods, the fact that it runs when you press play is miracle in itself.
45:10 Oooohhh, so THAT'S why Nameless was just randomly dead that one time! Also that was the first Uterus I tried Marksmanship on, then I assumed it just doesn't work on these things.

You could even say he longed to be a disciple of the cockroach.

You forgot the Isayah coin flip bug where his plagued hand… does absolutely nothing. It’s just a free turn if the coin flip hits you.
The fact is in there it's not certain, cause it still has some text, plague may not have istantaneous effects, as it normally would work I think
@ ah, I must’ve missed it when you covered it then
Heya Frap been a while since I tuned in
I finally got around to this video after catching up with content Ive been missing for the past three months and I just wanna give a wholehearted thank you for introducing me to Fear and Hunger an indie game that despite all of its flaws and glitches quickly shot up to being in the top 10 video games I've ever played in my life
Its been a journey with you and no sentiment or phrase on planet earth can express how much fun I've had seeing you do crazy challenges teaching us a few things on how the game works showing us the glorious yet hideous spaghetti code and so much more
It all started with Funger then I seen you move on to other games (in the way you used to do before Funger started popping off) and I think thise Funger videos honestly made me appreciate you and your personality more since we got to see you outside of the confines of a game that hates you - and it feels empowering to see anyone like you go from "just the one game" to "I am now every game, I own every game" - its growth that I got to see out of a channel I had been rooting for since the first vid I've watched
I felt the need to yap like this because truth be told I've seen your replies detailing the fact that our Funger journey is coming to an end
And this ending feels just as liberating as the time I completed not just Funger 1 but also Termina mostly by myself (and when I say "complete", I'm talking every ending with every character)
I can really keep going but I'll sum it up beautifully:
I'm happy you can finally leave the Dungeon and get an "Ending E" that actually has a happy ending (since we both know for a fact Funger 3 will never come out and neither will the update to Termina - not that Termina had that much more going for it imho)
33:12 a fun fact for this is that this is a limitation of rpg maker itself, 2 events not being able to activate at the same time
Why you can even see this on another game in this channel, MGQ Paradox!
is this the last Fear and Hunger one video? ( btw frappy ya shoudl try Lily's Well its a nice game quite short too!)
Not the LAST one, but...
vouch lily's well, you can knock it out in like an hour of gameplay and it's a pretty cute game
Me jokingly: This video is gonna be like an hour and a half, right?
looks at video length
Me: ...Close enough
I gotta agree with people saying the bugs are part of the charm. Considering this was a solo dev journey, these are the small mistakes made during a long journey. Feels like going through the "Beginners Guide" again. Playing a game made by someone else and you see the small touches here and there, things that changed, the random things that they never considered to happen. The small cases where things break in unintended ways. It makes the game feel more personal.
Hey so ive watched your videos for a bit and they got me into fear and hunger, just bought it. Wish me luck, update yall later
45:31 pregnant figurine confirmed 🫄🫄🫄
Crossing the bridge where Sylvian spawns at 1 fps was a dreadful experience. I didn't know if the game froze or I was moving at all
Hi, while watching this I remembered about some bugs I found while playing: I somehow triggered a battle with the cavedweller with a spear while on top of the platform where the pocketcat usually spawns, the other is a similar one but it happened with one Embryo on the left side of the library while I was on the bottom floor facing the wall, I guess it's about the enemies hitbox but it was actually hilarious, it feels so illogical (btw the video was great, I really enjoy your fear and hunger guides and challenge runs, I have no idea of how do you find the determination to do all of that but im thankful for it)
Love this videooo dude, i cant believe you made it so fast, i remember commenting the last video for this, and you already made this a video, completely insane so much quality for so little time per video
Hey Frapollo I got my TH-cam creators of the year, and guess who was on top, I’ll give you a hint, they’re name starts with Fr and ends with apollo good job keep up the great work. Also when’s the crow mauler kissing stream?
When someone turns into it irl
Meh accessibility imo shouldn't be a reason to make changes to a game
the "gotta go fast" bug actually happened to me when i got hit by an arrow from ballista guard in prisons and then fixed it by getting hit by arrow in torture chamber. this game is hilarious 😂
Yeah screen freeze can be very brutal unfortunately
4:28 AHAHAH
There were only one single time when Mind Binding affected me and I was Marriage, and ALL THIS TIME i thought that it is just how this skill actually works
And that make sense, it is a Mind Binding not some Mind Attack or smth, maybe it is a bug when this skill does NOT affect your max mind
Nono the code which doesn't get your mind stuck at 50 with everyone is present, it's just missing for marriage and nas
@@frapollo94 sad, but expected.
That Uterus and Nameless Figurine interaction is some advanced vodoo
25:49 Oh hell naw this happened to me on my first run and I thought I wasn't supposed to show myself because of it
Mi piace come hai incluso il bug della red vial infinita scoperto con mike durante (se non mi sbaglio) Ragnavaldr S ending
19:03 previous bug so big even frapollo contracted it
Btw, these are no bugs Frapollo! They are just *unintended features*
HELL YEAH, I LOVE YOU FRAPOLLO (stavo aspettando un nuovo video) it's always so good to hear your voice
37:50 YESSS TRORFUR MA BWOIIII AHAHA!! Still can't believe u actually made this vid, Pollo! xP
I'm not gonna lie, I don't play either Funger game anymore, I'm just here for Frapollo's voice.
32:28 i wonder if the arrow has a fix stopping point or it just stops when it goes off the camera
if a game doesn't have an hour worth of bug listings ion want it
yey you did it frappy! I will watch it bit later!
(tho keep on making fear and hunger stuff, even if you sorta opted out of termina)
I don't want to keep making funger that much longer tho
It makes me really happy that Frapollo has sponsors now; he deserves it
Frapollo finally getting a sponsor :’) you truly deserve more for all the effort you put into your videos!
Thank you for the video Frapollo94!
Thank you for the support
ah I just love good ol' frappolos funger video after my man explored every single corner of the game and beat it all the ways possible
a 57 minutes video of fear and hunger from frapollo it's the best christmas gift ever!
Miro is NOT gonna be happy if he sees this video 😂 keep it up man 🔥
The goat finally posted fear and hunger
Wish you a merry Christmas as well man ! All the best and wish you new year is not filled with bugs or broken hearths !
Only the real ones knows how Frapollo learned about the "Infinite Red Vials" bug. Fellow undeads
quick question in past mahabra when the lord of flies kidnaps u and puts u in a cage and u escape from it u can see a door with with white writing around it , can it be oppened and if yes what is hidden behind it ?
The old passage? It leads to old guardian
@@frapollo94 i never knew that i always though it was an easter egg or some unfinished part of the game , thnx for the quick answer
Honestly there's one quote from All-Bones Jones about F&H1's buggy ass coding that always sticks with me and motivated me to try and be a bit more responsible in delivering video games as projects and keeps my passion burning a little brighter. "Note:If Miro can make a game, Why can't you"
19:05
Looks like Miro's not the only one to switch up Nas'rah and Isayah
GODDAMNIT WHY NO ONE UNDERSTANDS WHY
As someone who used RPG Maker back in the early 2000, I'd say Funger is fairly huge accomplishment for an inexperienced solo dev, despite the bugs. Miro has an unstoppable will because he did several things the very hardest way and didn't give up.
Love your videos man, been watching for a long time now, you inspired me to play fear and hunger. I mega appreciate the hard work you've been doing! Keep it up Brother!!
41:15 Probably, but did u know that in the code Several characters are named Nash'rah?
This game is held together by paper glue and one singular sacrifice of a chicken to an unknown faceless deity in the woods, the fact that it runs when you press play is miracle in itself.
45:10 Oooohhh, so THAT'S why Nameless was just randomly dead that one time! Also that was the first Uterus I tried Marksmanship on, then I assumed it just doesn't work on these things.
Congrats on getting a sponsor man !
>pick up a rock
>You can no longer finish the game
Its... Almost thematic.
