I'm a filipino and "mumu" means ghost
They say that in every house, there's a spirit living in it. If you just moved or transferred in that house, there is a chance that the spirit will show itself to you and cause a little mischief. However, if you were raised from birth in that house, it will never show itself to you. Instead the spirit will always protect you whenever you are home.
This is just one of the folklores I remember listening from my grandparents. This story really makes me feel safe whenever I'm home. :D

When I was little, I would hear it all the time from EVERYONE! "sige ka, may momo (o aswang) dyan"......"sige ka, multuhin ka ni ***"......."oy, nagparamdam si *** mo"......"alam mo kaya nagkaganyan si ***, dahil kinulam yan"......"ingat ka, may nakatira dyan sa punong ***"......and don't get me started on those irrational and ridiculous superstitions!
As a child, I believed them and was deeply terrified 😈😨😱😓. I hated it and still do! 😠

What are some popular mythical creatures that are not scary? Sounds like Koreans would like horror a lot. I don't get it - my mom is korean, my dad is pinoy and they can watch scary movie - I definitely can't. Also in korean I think the moo moo is called a mawmaw. Funny
Diwatas, I think, aren't supposed to be scary. They're basically our version of a nature fairy. Other than that...hmmm...Most of what I know are scary. XD
