Former MI6 Chief scrutinises Israel's fighting tactics in Gaza | LBC

  • Speaking on Tonight With Andrew Marr, Sir Alex Younger told LBC that he great nations 'test their relationships' with each other, and that's something Rishi Sunak's government should be doing with Xi Jinping after the return of David Cameron as the Foreign Secretary.
On the topic of the Israel-Hamas war, Sir Alex warned Andrew Marr that the conflict could become the reason we see an 'increase' in radicalisation of young people, as protest calls for a ceasefire grow in the UK every week.

It's a Colonial mindset. A Colonial occupier thinks it's perfectly fine to go and occupy another person's land/country, steal their property and resources. And if the owner resists then to massacre them, terrorise them into subduegation and to justify your own terrorism by labelling them as "terrorist", "savages" and "uncivilised" etc!

The faces of these ignorant men is appalling. "We failed in Afghanistan because we went in militarily"? Maybe you failed because you weren't wanted in the area?! How he can speak so freely about so destructive matters, is how humanity lost its sense of sense. Then he speaks about how terrorism wants to breed terrorism, as if terrorism is an entity with a life of its own. Its people who react to the conditions they are put in, which in this case is oppression, humiliation, subjugation, extortion, slaughter, and the list goes on. Notice how he "others" people by saying: "Us and them". These are all attempts to create division where there is none. There is no us and them, there is only life!

    • @pokemonrampagemake
      @pokemonrampagemake 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

He's also completely detached from what is actually going on in Afghanistan now and how it relates to Palestine. The Taliban had political aspirations, they quickly established peace for their people once the US invaders pulled out and many people in the region say that Afghanistan is the safest it has been in the last 3 decades. The reason for this is simple, Taliban acknowledged the people's concerns and immediately stationed troops to take down terrorists around the region such as the few ISIS and Al Qaeda cells that operate there, which is why you can hear the (seemingly) paradoxical sentence "It's safe in this area because Taliban fighters are never too far away"
Hamas serve a very similar purpose in Gaza, they actually talk to their population when making decisions, they operate with the specific intention of liberation and have listened to calls to revise their charter, enhance social programs etc.. They have high military spending given their budget, because Gaza needs to be viewed as a nation that is permanently at war since it is always under a military blockade, but should the reason for the military spending vanish, then Hamas will follow a similar (although not identical) path to the Taliban, becoming more political and less militarized as the danger subsides.
The only way forward, which these establishment guys never understand is to give Palestinians their full rights and a genuine chance at self determination through a government that actually has the ability to carry out all its duties, not like current Gaza where Hamas are technically a government body but have no control of water, air space, territorial waters or trade routes in and out of Gaza.

Mordechai Anielewicz - brutal Jewish resistance
What do these people have in common with hamas and resistance in Palestine??
They all did the same thing to fight Against occupation and apartheid. They are celebrated and Joan of arc is now a saint.
You oppress someone enough. Things will pop.
The brutality like necklacing by the ANC was what got them their freedom. It was brutal.

This is the Head of the MI6, he speaks from the UK Government heart, He has no sympathathy for the plight of the Palestinians and the 75 year occupation, or the bombardment claiming 15,000 people lives, almost 6000 children lives. He cannot see the underlying cause, so it is impossible for him to see a fix. as a former head of Intelligence??. He is basically a Governement agent, Told to tow the line with the superiors ordering him. He is a Soldier following orders. Disappointing.

Sir Alex totally dodges the question.
Implication: Yes, he was surprised that Mossad was apparently not aware.
    Alternative implication: 🤔

A thoughtful and thought provoking interview. His comments on Gaza and particularly Israel buying in to the Hamas script have been mentioned by other commentators, but still deserve to be repeated. Netanyahu's government has either fallen for the bait because emotion has taken over or they have decided to play along because it suits their political purpose, particularly Natenyahu. I would incline to the latter.

Why can’t he speak about the history that most certainly contributed and led to Oct 7th? The British are deliberately ignoring their historical contribution to this land grab stealing from Palestine. If they were genuine then they’d have allowed the Scots and the Welsh to devolve. Calling out hypocrisy of the situation is an evaluation of reality and not radicalisation.

Russia has won the war. Ukraine doesn't have enough troops, weapons are ammo. Most the professional soldiers that caught Russia by surprise have been killed or injured. The average military age is now 40. It's just a matter of when Ukraine will start negotiating peace and how many more Ukrainians will die before that happens.
That's the reality. Our show of support was superficial and now Ukraine are essentially alone.
I know all this because my girlfriend's family are from one of the annexed areas, we speak to people back home daily. The Ukrainians are broken, they will never surrender, but at this point they can't make any progress. They will dig in as fighting grinds to a halt over winter and the Russians will target infrastructure like power to make life miserable for Ukrainians.
