- Assassin's Creed III is a historical action-adventure open world stealth video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U,and Microsoft Windows. It is the fifth major installment and the third numbered title in the Assassin's Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2011's Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The game was released worldwide for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, beginning in North America on October 30, 2012. A Wii U and Microsoft Windows version are released in November 2012. The main portion of Assassin's Creed III is set before, during and after the American Revolution from 1753 to 1783 In addition to the historical period, the game also features the "present day" setting, where series protagonist Desmond Miles must adventure to prevent the 2012 apocalypse, as his story develops and reaches a conclusion. The game features a new engine, Anvil Next, built from the ground up, the engine is said to utilize full capability of current generation systems to deliver a "next-gen Assassin's Creed experience.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer mode features over 12 modes, one of which is Domination where players hold certain points on the map. You will be able to play as the British military and the mode is "run" by Abstergo, as with previous games. Game mechanics from the single player will be carried over to the multiplayer, therefore requiring players to utilise stealth and advance assassination techniques. Female assassins will also be included, as seen in Brotherhood and Revelations

@@ramiere1412 You are wrong. Haytham just has the moves of the Officer enemy when wielding the sword. Using any sword is exactly the same with Haytham.
But hey! I managed to equip him with a heavy axe and he fights just like Connor with it!
(I don't remember how i removed his sword from inventory, but you can find the hessian with the axe in frontier near Valley Forge, in Black Creek)
I liked the visual difference between how Haytham and his son fought.
Connor was very energetic, lots of powerful swings and explosive energy, lots of movement and rolling and mobility.
Haytham is almost the opposite, exerting minimal effort and expending as little energy as possible with his high-precision fencing moves.

Like Ramiere said: Haytham only used a sword, while connor mainly used a axe. The animations look almost the same but some of them can't be cuz of the type of weapon he used in that conflict. You cant deflect a sword the same way with a axe instead of another sword. Only a few animations are unique for each character.

Standart Grill, We know all Haytham's life that for good 5 years already! The canonical novel by Oliwer Bowden says everything about Haytham's life with exception of Rogue's story.
If only the protagonist of rogue was Haytham literaly they had the whole story ready about how haytham destroyed the colonial assasins the only problem if such a version of rogue was released it would be that we wouldnt allowed to have a ship because in ac 3 haytham does not know how to handle a ship

Tuveux I don't think he's talking about Black flag, Rogue or Syndicate for that matter( Even Syndicate had combat animations though it wasn't as good as 3, BF and Rogue.) but more Unity. Unity's combat animations sucked and the counter system was removed in that game but later reinstalled in syndicate. After saying all that what the hell does him being gay or not have to with his opinion on the game titles or gameplay mechanics?
Xa-Moto 19 Unity's combat system had difficulty, it makes it challenging and realistic that is hard to kill 12 guards at the same time. And I think he meant BF and Rogue. Those games had the same combat system, but they removed tons of animations and made it look a bit clunky as sometimes the sound didn't make sense with what The character was doing with the sword, and the possibility of double counter was incredibly decreased.
Xa-Moto 19 origins combat also is difficult
You do know that they removed a bunch of animations because they possess different weapons like dual swords or a sword and dagger. (I'm referring to Black Flag and Rogue btw) also the hidden blade doesn't pivot in those sequels/prequels.

@@ketchashum5191 Hey, each their own. I personally prefer Ezio and Altaïr to the rest. Altaïr because he had an actual transformation from an arrogant prodigy to a very wise and compassionate person, and because the philosophies presented in AC I made me question things and brought actual perspective. And then Ezio is because he has a relatable backstory, he's a fun character in general, and just playing him over the years cemented him as my favorite of the bunch. Plus AC II, Brotherhood, and Revelations have my favorite game mechanics and characters in the franchise. Though I enjoy the rest (Bayek the siblings from Odyssey excluded) they just haven't gotten me as interested as these two. Though like I said you can have your opinion and if you enjoy the Kenways the most, power to you. That's the beauty of having these different characters to begin with.

I remember falling in love with Haythams animations when i first played this game and when the perspective shifted from Haytham to Connor i bought a sword as soon as i could only to be disappointed by the discovery that not only were the animations different, the tomahawk's were also straight up better than the swords.
I am playing as Connor and I prefer either the French rapper or the blunt category.

Haytham's animations were the best in the entire franchise. It was so satisfying just to walk around Boston as him - the way he adjusts his hand to hold his sword holster, the way he held a defensive stance in combat. I would much prefer his one-handed combat to the later games' two-handed. Shay was second to Haytham in terms of animation immersion, the only downside being 2 handed in combat.

Demon Intellect uhhh, Origins had a good story, hidden blades, and IT WAS ABOUT ASSASSINS. And the combat doesn’t actually seem that bad. Origins had terrible voice acting, animations in the parkour was wierd. And I know that I’m not really fixing my point, but at least people liked origins. Odyssey was just a game about Greeks.

It's sad to admit but the animations, finisher and even graphics looks way better than in Syndicate in my opinion. AC3 and Unity are still the best ones - in my opinion.
Wish my pc was powerful enough to play unity, Ive gotta lower all settings to minimun to even get it running somewhat correctly... One of these days Ill enjoy the later ac games in all their graphic beauty

Out of all the ac games I think 3 had some of the smoothest combat out of the ac series. It wasn't too janky or complex it was very momentum filled and sleek.
I like how once they gave their characters different fighting moves to show the difference between them.

One of the main letdowns in AC Rogue for me was that Shay just had the exact same moveset as Edward.
Shay didn't. Some of his animations were a bit worse and there were conpletely new ones like when you get air assassinated.

This game had some beautiful combat, the way you block an attack from behind to the double kills, I like it when games put that kind of effort into something.
