I used to do pedal demos, then I watched Pete Thorn in action and I quit playing music and moved to Alaska to be a dog sledder. You're absolutely amazing. Between you and Mike Hermans, i'd say you're the two best guitarists (to me) doing top quality demos. Thank you.

An excellent introduction to the new Fender line. I was really interested to see these new pedals in context and what Fender would come up with. Very impressive. What strikes me is how competent these pedals are - i.e., they do a job and do it well. They appear to have a very tight, well thought-out feature set that just works - not too much, or too little - just enough. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks Pete.
You are, in fact, the guitarist I wish I could become. I don't know if I should go wood shed for 10 years or just throw all my guitars and gear in a pile and light them up! That was just crazy good! Like Ty Tabor good!
This is the way to do it..use them in context. Whenever I see a pedal demo all by itself it doesn't tell me much..because that's not how we hear them on recordings or live...we hear them in songs. Nice work!
Gotta be one of the most complete players on the planet. Beyond the interstellar licks and phrasing and dazzle, what really hit me was in the first couple of minutes- the deceptively simple chord progression...I mean the way it was played. Beautiful. Tons of emotion and just pure feel in that rhythm playing.
I bought the Pugilist. Great pedal. Your demo song was one best instrumental songs I have ever heard. Really, Pete, you are an amazing player and writer. All your vids are great.

loved the opening tune, Pete. the rhythm lick in the B section that you played on your Suhr reminded me a lot of some of the fills on Sour Girl by STP. good stuff!
Wow, incredible playing, Mr. Thorn. To me the soloing you played here has a strong Petrucci reference in the modal meaning, yet it's much more listener-friendly, not as speedy-aggressive as he would play. The pedals are great too, seems like Fender finally got into the distortion territory for good. Thanks for the music, very catchy it is!

Hi Pete petals sound great. I do have a question about Ax8 I know you would use your surh amp for the AX8. I am looking for a amp for the ax8. Can't justify paying 3 grand for a BE 100. Would you have any recommendations for a power amp?
Would the buffer work if there is a volume drop in the chain, I have a pedal pawn fuzz & a vintage vox wah neither have a volume drop alone but together i experience a volume drop when engaging the wah, The fuzz is always on.
The pedals sound nice and the price points are excellent! But why the sidemounted jacks, Fender? And why not put two footswitches on the Pugilist; one for each circuit?
Agreed. But it is one of the cheapest in the range, so maybe it was a cost-benefit thing to offset the more expensive ones. I actually think it's the pick of the bunch, tonally.
Did you really expect Pete to take the time to list... not 2 or 3 but his TEN favourite pedals? And, as you mention, he has reviewed countless pedals and probably received even more than that. Do you think he could possibly do a mental comparison and come up with anything approaching an accurate list?
It seems Fender is doing everything about this line of pedals the right way, like sending all the pedals to TH-camrs already mounted on a pedalboard :-)
