  • CAMARGUE | Escape to the SOUTH OF FRANCE
I'm back with another virtual escape to the South of France for you, in this video we visit Camargue. France is back open, and by that I mean restaurants and bars are open for outdoor seating, our 10km restriction has been lifted and we are so happy to get back out to explore again. Camargue is a National Regional Park and is home to more than 400 species of birds and the beautiful Camargue horses. We visit Pont de Gau, it is a Park where you are able to bird watch and see hundreds of beautiful flamingos and other birds. We also visit Salin de Giraud, it is a pink lake, a man made salt pan. The pink color is caused by a certain algae that is in the water. We had a wonderful weekend in Camargue and I hope you guys enjoy this virtual escape to the South of France. Also a special thank you to my beautiful family for getting me a drone for my birthday, so excited to get some awesome shots of France for you all.

Bonjour! We were just introduced to your story during a search for Americans living in France. Clearly, your American fortitude and resourcefulness helped you and your adorable husband get through that tough period. Now,
you’re living the dream and sharing it with the one you love. I should say, with the ones you love 🐶AND with us. I subscribed because 1)we want to retire in Nice and are just a couple of years away from that and 2) your videos are beautifully made and inspiring.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your kindness Susan and for subscribing. I haven’t been to Nice yet but it’s definitely on my list to visit, especially since it’s not far from us. I’m glad my videos reached you until you’re able to come and retire here ❤️

Thank you so much. I would love to chat with the locals but because of the confinement I haven’t been able to make any connections. For sure once I speak the language and get aquatinted with the locals I would love to create videos with the French as well as small businesses. 🙏🏽

So pretty this village and lovely. I love those little spongy cakes Canelle I had them in Bourdeaux …. Tres bon! Love how your perspective transformed when you went to the pink salt place. Is that near Camargue a place I want to visit. Loving your explorations.

It's really interesting to see the "région" where you live from the eyes of foreign people (even if your husband is french). Sometimes, you forget the beauty around you, because it's your daily life. But thanks to people like you, you're open your eyes again and see this beauty. You even magnifice the places and make me want to take the road.
If you comeback to Camargue, go a far to the west, to see Aigues-Mortes, the Medievial city, not far away from Les Saintes Marie de la Mer, a really beautiful place...

      @SamFournier  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Aww, this makes me so happy to hear this. I’m so glad this video brought back the beauty you may have forgotten. Thank you for letting me know about the medieval city, if we’re back that way we will definitely check it out. ❤️

Glad you were having a blast visiting Camargue it's truly a one of a kind area in the whole country.
By the way speaking of pink and salt, you should give "Oignon de Roscoff" a try it's a pink onion from Britany sorry "Bretagne" from the city of Roscoff , it was originally kinda pink but it got really pink over there because the ground contains a lot of various salts that an onion can degrade into various sugars but it makes its skin pink.
It's a very sweet onion - relatively to onions it's the sweetest onion on earth - and it's really cool to make some light salads with it if you want some oniony taste but you don't want the taste to be too overpowering.
Here I'm gonna let you read the wikipedia page :
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oignon_de_Roscoff
The city of Roscoff is also worth visiting for its Church alone, like if you're a "nerd" a "geek" for Church architecture going a bit cra cra on the inside ... then you won't be disappointed ^^

Oooh, I’ll have to look into the oignon 🧅 thanks for all the info. We’ll also look into Roscoff!

Back in Anton’s fashion editor days, that pink salt lake was a location for a shoot. it’s a fantastic place! Also, we had no idea about flamingos and ankles 😂

I can definitely picture a photo shoot being done there!
