What a way to start off the New Year!! I still am speechless at this one, by far one of the longest soft reset hunts you can possibly do outside of roamers... So glad to have this amazing metallic spider!!!
You mean to tell me this hunt took over 500 hours?! (If my math is right) Wow that is some dedication, I feel sluggish dual hunting alola starters at 2 and a half minutes per reset, can’t imagine maintaining hope for a hunt like this, even with 5 GameCubes at the ready, huge huge congrats!
This is honestly why I respect gen3hunter. Not just for keeping with his namesake and hunting cool looking targets, but also hunting rare and difficult ones as well! I saw the gen3 rock-smash nosepass on his bingo card the other day, god I wish I had that level of patience because what a target.
Thank you both!! Yup so with GameCube hunts, I always make sure they’re my secondary hunt. They can get kind of tedious if they’re your primary focus. This was mindless, just pressing A a few times until we got to Nascour!
For me, the payoff comes when you find your target. The adrenaline rush, the excitement, words can’t even express the feeling!

@@corbinmoore96 Gen 3 shinies are the hardest in the whole franchise. I was lucky to catch a shiny Ralts and Sharpedo's prevolution and getting Pokérus on the same save file, but I would never get a shiny again in my whole life in Gen 3 with those odds.
Yeah your math is wrong. I got over 3000 hours. 15min/SR x 11.575 SR = 185.200 minutes complete hunt = 3087 hours

it's normal the chances are already low to come across one (1/8000 and I don't know how many) but on top of that you have to redo the same calculation so that it remains shyni once the purification is done because yes it can lose it by being purified

@@daxterminator91 That's just a myth. If it were true, then you could just catch a non-shiny and soft reset the purifications in order to try for the shiny, which would make the shines much easier imo.
@@daxterminator91yeah it’s already been proven a few times by a few different people that purification does not affect whether a Pokémon remains shiny or not

Shiny beldum was my first shiny at age 8 on my first Ruby playthrough :') I didn't even realize until battling steven a few times and thinking wtf why isn't mine blue!????

Shiny metagross is so fucking sick holy shit. I caught mine in BW2, caught in a luxury ball at full health at the moment I didnt realise the incredible luck w that catchrate. Im a little late but fuck man congratulations. Im at 30 resets for my first shadow pokemon and so far i dont know if im heterosexual enough to achieve a shiny in these games. Anyway xo

Have until March this year to transfer it to HOME with the nation ribbon. If you have a national ribbon of Primeape, I will gladly trade you for it. No one else will have a national ribbon Annihilape.

Crazy they were able to this in 2003 and waited 20 years to give another 3d game.
To be fair if he was actually able to soft reset all 5 instances at once and just counted it as one reset since he was doing them all at once, it would only be about 2300 soft resets, but that of course adds up to the actual number of resets since they were done in fairness but what a way to make such a long sr hunt so much faster
Shiny shadow hitmontop is a hard one probably a contender for the hardest shiny because of the fact its the first battle that determines its shiny value and its first battle is scripted

I made those sprites like, 5 years back because I thought it was incredible that they were different from the originals. I don't exactly make Pokemon content regularly but I started with Sapphire lol. I've also been pretty nostalgic for Colo and XD, which I still own.

Nope! This is actually a misconception that we shiny hunters are really trying to dispel. Upon your first encounter with a shadow Pokemon, it will never be shiny for the trainer, and can be shiny for you at 1/8192 odds. It will never turn unshiny
It can only be shiny for the trainer if it’s a rematch. In that case it can be shiny for them, but won’t be for you
Oh man I thought there was shiny only on Gale of darkness.
All shadow pokemon were shiny locked in GoD because the shiny could reroll multiple times in Colosseum. It could be shiny in the battle which is the initial approx 1/8000 then the shiny odds reroll when you catch it at the 1/8000(meaning even if it was encountered shiny when you catch it it could be non shiny or like in the case of this video non shiny encounter but shiny when caught), it can also reroll when purified so even if you catch it as a shiny when you purify it can sometimes become a nonshiny lol. In GoD only the pokestop wild pokemon(and maybe the trade mons I can't remember) can be shiny, all shadows and your starter are shiny locked
