    I've been using similar set ups for no gi to enter into backside 50/50 for heel hooks. Definitely keen to use this in the gi for taking the back 👌

    Super stuff man! You should do an accelerated preview of the techniques as an intro of your vids

    Interesting entry to get into it, I never really looked into Matrix much. I've been using this style of back attack for a long time when someone attempts to roll or yank out of a leg attack. Great spot for crab rides or bear traps.

      Some people don’t like the matrix but I think its good to have the option to threaten the back against an opponent that’s posturing up

    Hey coach I'm huge fan and I've always appreciated your time and effort on answering my questions wich are all under MMA rules :
    -isn't it better to always clasp my hands in a Double leg if not when should I do it?
    -what do you think about cross facing the exponent in a sprawl?
    -how do I use butterfly hooks from my back?
    And again thank you for the help and time you put into answering and please don't be brief we are stuck anyways

    Great detail, just one thing it would be awesome if before explaining you would do the movement that way when you go into detail we already understand or know what to expect from the chain of movement.

    I've just started studying this guard as I use a lot of X-guard and it dovetails nicely. These are really helpful details. If you could recommend some matches in particular to research it would be appreciated.

    This was really helpful for an older guy trying to stay hip to the new developments in BJJ. I'm glad to hear K guard is just the same thing no gi, thought I had two new guards to learn. Thanks!

    Hey Alec, What if they try to turn to face? I think that's why people hook the far hip with that leg right? I have some trouble in the gym when people know I am going Baby-Bolo they will turn to face. Usually The first grim I make is a grip on the non-DLR leg pant to stop this. Is that a concern with the matrix?

    • @AlecBaulding
      @AlecBaulding  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think I understand. A big detail that helped me was really elevating my hips when I bring my leg across for the matrix and stay heavy on the hamstring/calf along with the pant/belt grip and don’t be afraid to lift your hips into your opponent if it makes any sense.

    Do you actively try to kick forward with your shin in the inside of the crook of the knee ? Or you try to be heavy and go down with the leg ?

    • @AlecBaulding
      @AlecBaulding  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You definitely want to stay heavy on the knee. They will probably try and fight you by either posturing, allowing you to escape the second leg or they will try to roll out and sweep themselves to try to escape. Generally, your opponent won’t fall all the way down.
