I'd driven this engine in a Golf 7 facelift model. It's really quiet and smooth running. Pretty unique for a 3 cylinder engine. The power is not for racing, but it's enough for normal all-day use and the fuel consumption is really low.
dkmg333 cause people don't rev past 3000 in day to day traffic. If this car keeps up with traffic under 3000 rpm, unlike an old 1.2 60hp fiat or whatever, it's good enough for 95% of the users in 99% of their drive
@@gigel99324 That's not really valid in Eastern Europe. I live in Romania, everyone revs past 3000 in day to day traffic. I can't say that the aggressive driving style is great, but there is no other option here, you can get brake tested / yelled at / beaten up / shot etc. for slow driving around here, depending on who you have behind.

i had 1,2 HTP 3 cylinder long tim ago --> that was a serious trash, reaching 120k km got totaly broken and I spend almost more money for overhaul than for new one, I am afraid this is not different, higher pressure ratio shall significantly influence engine life (do not compare it with diesel)

I think they tried something new and for me it worked. I like the front lights oft this car. They look kind of agressiv and powerful. But I can't understand if u don't like them. The non facelift with the normal front light looks nice too.
Duno what you drove or what you read about small engines... i have 2017 like this octavia allso, bought new but with more equipment inside allsowith amb light inside ^_^ 150k kilomiters and quiet and small fuel consuption still works great ^_^
