Speaking as a plus size person, I will say that the main appeal of shapewear, for me, is to smooth out lumps and bumps, not really achieving a different shape. Smoothing out your panty lines and bra lines and any little rolls on the torso can make your clothes look that much more fitted and elegant. A secondary benefit to the type that you were wearing is that shorts help to protect the thighs from chafing. If you're wearing something sheer or a skirt on a windy day, it's nice to have the peace of mind that comes with wearing a more modest layer underneath. If you're feeling bold and wearing something with cutouts, shapewear that comes close to matching your skin color can let you enjoy the style without the exposure. Finally, if you live in a cold region, wearing a base layer of shapewear underneath your clothes can help provide warmth without adding layers of bulk. I usually save my shapewear for dresses and special occasions. I wouldn't wear it with trousers and a loose T-shirt. You see more of a difference with fancier outfits.

As long as you wear it for the right reasons! :)
The beauty/fashion industry shines on women's insecurities and that's what I have an issue with. We are all beautiful humans regardless of how we look and that's what I want to promote, self confidence in every woman out there! I don't apply makeup or even style my hair, I feel confident in my own skin and I want everyone to feel the same way

@@stylingwithnandy Same with makeup and hair. I tend to go for a chin-length inverted bob with an undercut. This requires minimal style in the mornings and still looks put together. Most days, I don't wear makeup at all - but I do put on moisturizer and a layer of SPF protection. I'm fortunate to work in a company and in a profession that does not require women to wear a full face of makeup. I'll switch it up for special occasions, but, in general, I don't how makeup feels, how much it costs, or the time it takes to apply it. I completely agree with your point about the beauty and fashion industry taking an advantage of women's insecurities! I feel much better about myself when I don't spend an hour each morning fixating my flaws.

Shapewear for tummies is great for skin hugging dresses to keep your silhouette smooth.

You are so slim! I don’t think you have tummy fat! Most women are a bit rounder around the tummy. Also, you got to be careful with empire waist/loose around the tummy because it can make you look pregnant.

As she mentioned in the video, she can feel bloated during her period. This may make HER feel uncomfortable and therefore find ways to hide her tummy to help her feel confident. Just because someone is slim doesn't mean they don't necessarily have a tummy/tummy fat. All bodies are different and we all have our own insecurities. Her video helps others to achieve confidence if the tummy area is their concern.

Slim yes, fat…I hide it well 😆
Yes, I agree with you on being careful about empire waist dresses! We all have different heights, body shapes, structures & fat curves. Every point may not suit each and everyone. One gotta try them out & see what suits them best 😊
