How to Stop Trespassing

- After a late night finishing the corn planting, Eric has to dig a ditch to stop a neighbor from crossing his field to access his property. We are not land locking this person from his property. We have tried all measures to deal with this including a land survey and sending the other owner a certified letter with no results. We are just forcing him to use his access after losing the farm last year. Eric and Tommy start switching the planter from corn to soybeans and discover the planter has a broke smart firmer on a unit. Eric shows in detail the process of changing the smart firmer.

A huge pain in the back side. Had to pay 5 years rent up front as a loan so he wouldn’t lose the place then he tells me I can’t rent anymore after the 5 years is up.

Wouldn’t it have been a little better and easier to just install a short section of fence instead of dig a trench that’s gonna hold water all year long? Not criticizing, just asking
They would have tore it down. This is truly the only way we could stop them.
Private property rights trump anyone convenience! If he doesn’t have a easement then he needs to stop trespassing unless he makes an arrangement with you! Anyone that can’t see this is a moron!

To do even by certified letter, you take away the access. We built the road for our convenience when working both fields. He has another access he can use.

I'm sorry how does this help, clearly you didn't talk to them. Only in America I guess.
Step one talk, if that failed step two mention if they continue it might require the law and trespassing, step 3 if he still doesn't listen the law, and then dig.
But to dig outright....my kids no better. As you never mentioned you didn't do anything else, I can only conclude this is your step one (if I missed it please time stamp it I will concede if I am wrong and you did talk to them).
All the steps above have been taken. Was told to send a certified letter and we did so along with the land survey we had to clarify the situation. They continued to trespass as going as far as crossing a field that was prepared for planting. They continue to trespass and destroy our property so I took the measure of stopping the problem.
