Sir looking your hang glide set up system you make me assure that i am able to fly in my country. Today was considered as my second birth date, because I was worried how hanging glide was made and it answered to me today's 43 years ago dream. Thank you so much for your support in giving technical skills. I am so happy you have added in my life more extra years and happiness.
You are an extremely articulate instructor and have done a superb job as well as your crew. Filming was excellent. Thank you and your team for your time in this video. I'm very excited to get started in yet a new venture. Love and Light, Geo
that is possibly the best set up and explanation video I have seen on hang glider assembly. I like the fact that the harness is included in the pre flight check
Met this guy in world air games Spain 1999 I believe. Great pilot , flying in Australian National Team. Johnny Durand was debuting as well in major comps that year. Cheers !!
Very articulate demonstration Rohan. Look forward to flying with you this year... And I think 'Sandwich Pocket 'might be the next name of my next band :)
Awesome, thanks for the how too. I just bought a Malibu 188, and never knew how to set up a glider flat on the ground like this. I know the Malibu doesn't like being setup standing up. Particularly when we are putting the wing away. Is there any chance of you making a video of packaging up the wing ? Thank you.
I’ve never heard of a blow down tube. The dive stick sticks out from underneath the wing tips and lifts the trailing edge of the wing tips up, so as to give them a different angle of attack to the rest of the wing.
I don’t know the Falcon. But yes on this glider and all that can be set up flat, pulling on the tension strap only pulls on the crossbars, and ‘tensions’ up the wing. The A frame is tensioned separately with the nose wire.
Thank you very much for showing the hang glider assembly, I was wondering how long it takes. I am an experienced pilot of large remote-controlled models, I have also flown 6 hours in a real Cessna 172 airplane and I can even land several gliders without the help of an instructor (only tips). Flying comes very naturally to me. That's why I have a question for you: won't my long-standing habits be a problem when flying a hang glider? it turns the other way around and I'm afraid this could be a problem in a critical situation. Many pilots have died due to turning habits. Best regards and I wish you many wonderful flights! Darek from Poland.
You just explained it well, to be honest no one explained like this how HG assembly is done , i appreciate your efforts to explain each and every check points ... and i have learned a lot for your instruction and i thank you , but i want to ask , is there any kind connection between the batten tip and the leading edge while you insert to the batten cages , or just left on the sail , i.e unattached with the leading edge frame, thank you in advance .
On this glider, most battens are only attached to the sail. The exception is the nose batten, which sits on a pin on the nose. The sail on a flex wing glider such as this one needs to flex, and thus can’t have battens attached to the leading edge. Fixed wing gliders are a completely different story. The credit for this excellent video explanation goes to Rohan Holtkamp - my instructor
Well that was interesting. I have no experience but have just purchased a used Airbourne fun 220. $1000 I'm wondering if it is related to this glider. Anyway, I'm waiting for lessons to start back up in 6 months.
Yup. Your glider is the previous generation, and a larger size. You're probably better off waiting for instructions before buying a glider. Mostly because you'll get to try out a few different kinds, and possibly a few different sizes as well before deciding what works for you. The 220 is a large glider - mostly for tandems, or if you weigh a lot. So I hope it works out for you!
Nice, organized and clear work, I am Egyptian and I hope that one day I can develop this wing and install the oasis, a solar energy and a lightweight engine and fly it around the world, greetings to you, sir
Yes! There is a Phillipines Hang Gliding and Paragliding association. Try getting in touch with them. You'll be able to find someone to take you on a joy flight as a passenger. Try the PPHGA at facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064382723650
Hello, I am Ali from Iraq. I am following you. Can you help me? I would like to make such a beautiful plane. No, but I do not know the measurements. Can you help me, my friend?
Yes you can look this up with the name of the glider: Airborne Fun. www.delta-club-82.com/bible/119-hang-glider-fun.htm You can follow the manual link to read more about its dimensions. There are 3 sizes: 160, 190, and 220. The glider in this video is the 190.
@@SamuelShine-r7f they’re pretty cheap. Second hand ones start from about $1,000. But if you find a hang gliding school nearby, you can use their gliders.
Prices for Hangglider like the one in this video range from about USD500 for the cheapest second hand, to about USD5000 for a new one. But you don’t need to buy a glider first. Start by finding a hang gliding school - you can learn on their gliders and equipment. They’ll also have gliders for your size and weight.
@@pokletgood evening, how can you turn right or left and how do you get off l hope you will reply l am very obsessed with flying greetings to you for all your efforts
@@krimorouabha7628 It’s controlled by weight shift. You are hanging from a strap near the centre of gravity. Like a pendulum. To move left, you move your body to the left.
