He's getting back to his roots welding and fabricating. This style is called easy haha, thanks for the Audio tip as well. Lucky most people watch on a phone other wise I'd just delete the video a re upload it.
Mate this is out of control how how do you design and make something like that out of thin air. The capt is genuinely a master craftsmen the level of detail and quality finishes is first class I was a builder of boats for 20 years at a new Zealand boat builders and we never got close to polishing welds like that. More of this I love it
@@findingjoe can see a lot of thought has gone in to the build this is going to be one awesome hard top. Loved the idea of the rocket launchers being able to pivot to put rods in and out
In the middle of teaching my self how to tig ally to build my own for the streaker. Looking good and love the rod holder design. Potential high demand in the market for something like that might need to swap the tig for a mig though to bang em out
Well this is great content I was wanting a video showing how to make a hardtop for my boat now iv seen this I'm scared lol seem pretty full on maybe ill hit up the cap for a price I reckon probably not a job for an amateur. Out of control skills mate iv been welding mild steel and stainless for years but I gave alloy a crack and it was a disaster some pointers might help 😊
New sub here stumbled across this channel as I'm a fabricator and car builder. Mate, this quality is insane you never see this on a boat. Truly insane capt should be proud can wait to see the next instalment keep them coming and can't wait to see what you do with the mustang
Ah you saw the Mustang in the background there. The two of us actually met when we both worked in the smash repair trade. The Capt learnt the majority of his skills there left them behind for a while to build houses now has came back to fabricating. Going to do a bit more hands video for the next instalment.
@findingjoe yeah saw the mustang there be worth a fortune when finished. I'd be keen to watch a series on the capt restoring that if the level of alloy welding is anything to go buy
Hi guys new to your channel I'm a welder guy and this video popped up. I must say there is no way that the capt is a home hobbiest what is his back ground no one just picks up a tig and welds aliminium like that and can polish the welds with such perfection that is crazy I see high level car builders that can't achieve that level of sheet metal. Capt should defects pursue the rod holder idea an engineering master piece keep them coming
Thanks mate, the Capt has years of fabricating and welding during our tenure in car restoration, so he's getting back to his roots. Thanks for watching.
Looking forward to seeing the end result, There's one over here in WA with a custom hard top, perfect description * Popemobile, turned me off doing one for my 2250 walk around. you guys might change my mind 😀
Hey guys love your videos and really enjoy your contents but the quintrex yellow fin have those rod holders, i was thinking of the same idea but on clamps instead of welding it onto the hardtop
Not sure what's looking more chiselled, the hardtop or the capt... Absolutely unreal craftsmanship
Lol thanks mate keep your bids coming
the cap is pretty Handy !!! Love this style of video well done .. Well shot on your little dji gimbal thingy lol ..
I aim to please

@@findingjoe Yeah that awesome hope it goes well for you guys ..
Capt. Great hoody but also epic fabrication skills. Great work.
Yep love the hoody always keeps me warm

Thanks mate just a little plan in my head and a tape measure
@@thecapt7726 Too modest.
That will be the Capt Built point of difference, quality.
The caps are wizard!!
Going to look awesome lads
Thanks mate
Cheers dude.
Looks amazing can't wait to see it all finished
Cheers buddy.

@@UnforgivenFishing How good will those launchers be.

The capts welding is nuts don't be hard on ya self it takes years to be able to weld and polish like that edges look like folds
Thanks guys been a labour of love
Cheers dude thanks for watching.

I’d be getting a patent For that rod holder design before somebody snags it off you !! Genius idea
Yeah we were discussing a patent I have a few more ideas to show soon this is just the start. Thanks for the support
What a crackin idea hey. Pain in the butt trying to pull the rods down while you're hooked on a tuna..
This is great work from the capt , the detail is amazing and I can’t wait to see it finished .
Thanks mate, hopefully capture the capt doing a bit more welding and manual work next vid.
Maybe add solar to the roof and DCDC charger to keep the batteries charged. Are you gonna add window wipers ?
Hey mate we already have wipers but may have to extend the arms
Solar panel was also a consideration

Hopefully it looks the goods
I saw a 680 recently with a hardtop and it looked terrible, like the pope mobile, was way too high. Can't wait for the end result myself.
Love the build once you have finished will you do a rough costing of the project? Minus the enormous amount of sweat equity.
Have the very same on my 213 c Haines ! It’s a game changer, unfortunately can’t send pic of it , had it now for around 8 years
We can't wait to get it all done
Looking forward to a dry ride myself.
100% sliding windows, mine fogged up so much even with anti fog
We haven't decided on sliders or just solid glass.
I'm looking into glass in glass slider
Awesome

Yeah I just looked them up, yeah they have something very similar don't they? The Capt has already thought of doing a few that clamp on.
Hi mate what’s size tube are you using?
