That odd looking electrical outlet you were trying to figure out, was for Air Conditioner units made in the 70s and 80s. My grandparents had to use one exactly like that for their A.C. ( I am an old timer! 😛) - Ricky
Back in the late 1800s-early 1900s, the building was originally the Upper St. Clair Hotel, and it has been remodeled & added onto at least 50 times over the last 100 years -- which is why there are so many different rooms of various styles & hallways to nowhere & false ceilings & double walls. It hasn't been opened since the last heavy flooding that hit the area about 2 years ago.
It's like a maze because the building has been remodeled at least 50 times: It's been Upper St. Clair Hotel, Walt's Tavern, Roccos, Bistro Bello, Scoglio's, Cinco, & many other things
Fantastic video! Of course, you always give your TH-cam videos some class, but, when Flame Dragon appears in your videos, he gives it some extra class. Please keep up the good work!
Optopolis I got into IBM Country Club in Binghamton, NY (the coolest place EVER for urbexing-I've got a couple videos of it), but you can tell it's massive from outside, unlike this which appears small from outside.
@@WillCMay I've noticed there's a chunk of places of both forms, looks smaller on the inside than out, and as large as/larger than it is on the inside. Had a fabric store here that looks small until you get up to the window!
Optopolis And the department stores seem to be smaller than they appear outside. I've been inside of 2 abandoned Macy's, an abandoned K-Mart (closed for nearly 30 years), and an abandoned Ames. They always seem to appear bigger outside. However, when I was in Quèbec City I got into a couple of abandoned buildings far bigger than I could have possibly immagined (however looking back it's likely one of those is a satanic temple, and you can tell from outside based on grafitti. Would not go in there alone again)
I probably should’ve put a disclaimer on my movie theater explore because the city caught wind of it when I posted it. Ver much like you, I was only there to film because when I first moved to Utah, it was cheap to go there (like, $2 a ticket). Closed a little over 2 years ago.
That's a reason why I mention that in the videos in which I go inside. Plus I want it to be known I discourage vandals and other bad behavior to take place there. I'm just there, like you, to document these places before they're gone from existence.
WallieB26 exactly. Which I am 100% for. Luckily, I was able to prove to the courts (through my personal photography and old footage of the same complex) that I committed no crime. I’ll send you a link to the video I got in trouble for.

So this place caught fire this morning. Haven't heard anything else about it, but it was apparently under control relatively quickly. Explains all the sirens I heard nearby though.
This would be a cool place To do several repairs to put the bathrooms and everything else back into the way that it was when it was a restaurant and turn it into a retail Museum with pieces and Literature from the restaurant and other historical brands products Vintage soda/beer cans/bottles. And other things that are retail related
I wanted to let you know on this video, I used to live up by Cinco it used to be called Walts Tavern years ago, Its been recently demolished. I drove by there about 2 weeks ago
Technically, the building is located in Upper Saint Clair Twp, not to far from the border with Mount Lebanon. Those particular areas where it's located used to be the villages of Beadling & Robb Hollow, old mining towns.
Love your videos wallie!! Could you please research the history of this place for us?? Very unique lay-out!!! Res/comm. Both at some point, i guess! Don't you see address #'s on the building?? Check with city, and county!!? Thanks wallie
@@slackingpacking Sorry to say there's some jerk is trying to ruin this great comment section he had brought in some political stuff and sorry for been rude sir..
I can tell from the outside of that building its sliding forward its gonna collapse soon due to the hill and rain and trees behind it shifting it out of its foundation so it's a matter of time..
The mold was probably a result of flooding. Chances are the owners decided to say fuck it cause the amount of work required to clean up black mold is substantial abs expensive
It was built on a hill. Recent floods in that area liquefied the soil and destabilized the foundation. You can see the building leaning backwards a bit.
Sad they failed as they were very good. It was best as Walt's Tavern. It has been about 4 places over time. It was bought out of bankruptcy and I suspect a Chinese or other ethnic restaurant may show up. Someone mad that old bar disappear, it was very old and beautiful. Brass rails, brass r foot rails. The upper bar rails were held on by brass elephant heads. There were flooding issues from the stream that runs behind it. They are currently boxing in the stream in concrete.
My speculation-this place looks like it was built in the early 1900s, as a bed&breakfast. Probably closed in the 90s, but a resturaunt continued to operate. I remember it changing names, I'm betting this place was unsafe before Cinco moved in and they saw a good price and went for it, and the dammage was worse than they thought. Being that it's right next to Painters Run I wouldn't be surprised if it was the victum of some flooding. Cinco closed about 5-7 years ago from what I remember.

Dude. I live maybe five minutes from here if I get all green lights. I can't believe I've never noticed this place.
I used to live five minutes from that place. I remember when it was Walt’s Tavern, Painters Run, and Scoglio, along with a few more places.
I love your videos there are so entertaining you create about the only videos I can watch for 20 minutes! Keep it up 👍
Dang you are the luckiest person with these finds I never find a building with any open doors or even abandoned places.
Thank you so much but I'm not always lucky to find an unlocked door. So many times it doesnt happen. It's actually rare this one happened.
What's the point of them being locked when there's nothing in there
I have only found 1 out of 50 places I filmed that a door was open.
Hi
Wow a Mexican restaurant I love Mexican food in it look so old maybe the the 90s it looks really great I wonder why it shut down?
Well they didnt have no tacos and looks like wallie.is getting skinny.
Same here. I miss Chi Chi’s Mexican Restaraunt. They closed a long time ago . Loved there Mexican fried ice cream .
That bldg is like a maze; so many rooms. What an interesting video, Wallie!
It was truly a cool video good job. I suggest bringing a good pair of shoes do you when you leave the house
Great video. That plug you saw was a 240 outlets .
