Room is hot( high temperature) , Coffee turns hot ( initial coffee is cool, low temperature ), According to second law , Heat transfer from High temperature (room)to low temperature (coffee)to make equilibrium. From yours first statement coffee only cools because of room temperature, Same process is happening here coffee is hot initial (means high temperature) , room is normal temperature (means temperature is less than the coffee) , according to second, heat transfer happening from high temperature (coffee) to low temperature (room) to attain equilibrium temperature, so the coffee cools, i think now you are understanding 🙏.
