More podcast languages too...while we are adding suggestions: we also need listening and speech recognition exercises without print(you hear a phrase and have to enter it from “scratch”) And -Voice recognition from audio alone👍🗣👂

is nobody noticing that bread in french is called:
“le *pain* “
"The" in german is literally "die" so i wouldnt find that the weirdest thing

one of my favorite things about this app is its repetitive and helps you rember words on other language learning apps that I've tried I'd keep forgetting things but duolingo really helps it stick. It also really helped me when I started I would have to click on every word on the stories but now I can look at the sentences and pretty much know what it means and just have to tap on one word like cuidad

I love the repetitiveness on this app as the content start getting harder as you go. That way you won’t lose what you’ve learned!!

It's called spiral progression. It makes sure you are able to remember and master, at the same time learn new things.

I agree. Duolingo is a wonderful tool to learn a language, far better and more effective than learning a language in school. That said, it is also very, very frustrating to work with at times. It's free, but it's not well maintained. Reporting incorrect translations--many of the people who provide the at times very wierd translations cannot possibly be native speakers!--missing audio, etc. has no consequence. Reported problems are simply ignored, often for many years (just read the discussions...). Instead, Duolingo just continually makes 'bell and whistle' changes, that add no benefit whatsoever and just slow the entire process down so that the user becomes even more frustrated. But, as I said, it's nevertheless a great tool to learn a language. New users just need to be warned: You're going to be frustrated--very often (becuse you and thousands of other are right, when Duolingo is wrong, but you can't do a thing about it).

Duolingo is one of my favorite language learning apps and it's 100 times better than Rosetta Stone
You have so much more motivation from duolingo! You have the great incentive to learning because if you don’t your family will be slaughtered!!
Yea I used to use Rosetta Stone but I didn’t feel as motivated cause I wasn’t threatened to go to the trench...
@@sassoonaj3990 I tried Rosetta Stone for years and couldn't get fluent and it was so expensive. So I moved to Duolingo as one of my favorite apps as well as Memrise and LingQ.

I’m taking Norwegian, and I’ve learned more than 100 words! That’s 100 less days till I get my family back!
Jokes aside, this app is amazing, and I enjoy taking Norwegian. The little characters in between streaks keep me motivated and I like the cute design. The simple layout and smooth progression is a really good way to learn new languages and enjoy it, thank you!

Duo, please start providing serious tips, methods and strategies for those of us working on multiple languages at once. I’ve got 735 days (I took a break when moving a bit back and had over 300 days before that😊)
Duolingo shouldn’t have hearts, it just makes learning more stressful because of the frustration of losing them then having to watch 5 15-59 second ads trying to refill them 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️
Duolingo is an easy way to learn a language, and is fun to use! There’s great animation, it has a good way to remember different languages, and has multiple different activities if anybody wants to try something new! It has great character design and a streak to keep uses motivated to keep running the app! Overall, it’s great and I would definitely download it!
