Surfing Punta Mango GOOD Day - El Salvador

Wild east, crowded of mosquitos everywhere, annoying and nice at the same time. Sleeping in a hammock at night? Don’t be scared when a coyotes appear next to you. They are friendly.
Mythical beach, until recently known only to a lucky few, is now on the bucket list of any adventurous surfer. After, It was only accessible by boat.
Imagine capturing the whole experience for posterity by hiring a local photographer, who for just a few dollars will immortalize this wild ride.
This particular wave is one of the most demanding on the entire Salvadoran coast. It's reserved only for experts. On its best days, this rocky point break on the right generates a powerful, fast, tubular, long-line wave that barrels until it finally dies in a sandy cove.
In my Opinion, It's the ultimate challenge for any serious surfer.
I say Glory to God for one more day of life because we don’t know when we are going to stop breathing. And we need to be sure where we are going to stop in the next life. God can give you the answer.

Hey Pineapple Surf - Thans for sharing. I got this place all by myself in 1978. Had to wait a week until we could get a ferry around Nica due to the SLF holding folks hostage at the border.

Does punta mango need a big swell work? Or does it break well when it is smaller swell? What is ideal for punta mango? Thank you so much

Hey man, it works small, but keep this in mind, when el Zonte or La Bocana is 7 ft swell, Punta Mango always will be smaller like 5 ft but consistent, the ideal. Small size is really fun but careful, the rocks are sharp, unlike Punta Roca, here the rocks are not round, nor smooth. When is big the wave gets hollow and tubular.
