Youhu is in the shop for 80 afterglow corals (equivalent to a 10 pull) and she's apparently in the shop for 68 days. I think it is good value if you want youhu and if she is really gonna be in the shop for 68 days then that's crazy good.
Now i could be wrong but 80 afterglow corals ain't the equivalent of a 10 pull. Pretty sure it'll take way more pulls before you can just buy her from the shop.
It's great that Wuthering Waves is starting to fill out the support character role because it was quite lacking in the beginning. I feel Youhu is going to be emblematic of how most post-launch 4* characters will be. I'm thinking primarily of some special niche (like buffing coordinated attacks from Youhu's outro skill) but not being too impressive out of that. Most of the focus will on the featured 5* characters of course. I would say that Baizhi and Youhu seem relatively equal as 4* supports. Baizhu is more of a general support/healer while Youhu will benefit teams with a strong coordinated attacker. I don't think that Kuro is going to release a coordinated attacker that has very high damage multipliers as ILosetoWin speculates, unless such a character could only use coordinated attacks on field (so essentially a main DPS). If such a character was to exist that Youhu would easily fit in as the best support for such a character. Otherwise, simply getting more Sub DPS/Off Field coordinated attacks will make Youhu more valuable in the long run.
She only buffs next character with outro, so if you do Youhu -> Coordinated Attacker -> Main DPS, the moment you exit the field with the coordinated attacker to your main dps, Youhu's buff on coordinated attacks is gone. So yes we have to wait for a main dps that does coordinated attacks themselves to fully utilize her kit
@charginginprogresss That is not correct. The ottro skill buffing coordinated attacks does not go away upon switching out. If it didn't do this, then the buff would be useless because all coordinate attacks can be triggered off field and few players are going to keep a coordinate attacker on field. The main issue is that coordinated attacks are low compared to the damage done by characters (especially Main DPS) when on field. So doubling the damage is great but it's still a fraction of the damage of the on fielded. If we had a character in which coordinated attacks are their main source of damage, but that the coordinated attacks could only happen on field, the damage scaling could be much higher, to make up for not being able to switch out and continue doing the attacks. That would effectively make such a character a main DPS and Youchu would be easily be the best support for such a character. However right now, Youchu is out classed by Shorekeeper and Verina because they have more universal buffs. But I would wager that Kuro would eventually make a main DPS coordinated attacker since they seem keen to keep Wuthering Waves *relatively balanced for a gatcha game.
A 4* like youhu is definitely interesting, I feel like if kuro made more characters fit in teams like she does, team comps might just become more fun to build

Youhu is different from other healer, that, she contributes to the team by doing actual damage, not because her outro buff is powerful (Estimate only 30k~100k increase on Zhezhi, depending on how well built Zhezhi is, note that other character have weaker coordianted attacks compared to Zhezhi so far). Problem is, Youhu echo is going to be expensive, since you want ATK, 2 Crit, ER. In addition to more offensive approach compared to Marcato, the crafted gauntlet also provides ER, which makes it much easier on your echo rolls. If you have perfect echo/enough ER from echo, 5* gauntlet (Yao's best at the moment of this post) is better. P.S. her outro buff outlook might change if KURO introduce main DPS with powerful coordinated attacks.
Thanks for the video man. So she basically a good healer and fun character to play for certain team. She is good choice if you need more healer when clearing Tower of Adversity
She is fun, before C6 she is slightly better than Baizhi and about as good as Verina on team with off field dmg so she is great addition since ideally we need 3 support anyway. If you somehow manage to get her c6 and build her properly she can be a proper sub dps in certain team making her competing with Shorekeeper S0r0 If you somehow dont have Shorekeeper then getting her from shop is absolutely worth it But if you have Shorekeeper and Verina she is whatever. I get her cuz I can and I like her, seeing my Yinlin deal 10k+ off field is funny and I also like using her with Mortefi or Zhezhi for daily and roaming, she is great! Shorekeeper take a lot more time to reach her peak potential which is not ideal in overworls, Verina or Youhu is more comfy to me

Only if we are expecting 5 stars to be pretty useless lol. Like so far everything shown, she's pretty lacking in all ways. Her damage is abysmal, her healing is on the low side compared to other healers, she boosts coordinated attacks, not provides them making her useless with power characters like jhinsi, and she has rng built into her kit making for considerably more field time than the other three healers. If iwintolose couldn't make her sound particularly appealing, then she isn't seeming all that great. Especially with her mostly being a support but having sequences and skills that only really affect her personal damage.
I did not realize she was a healer!! I'm excited to get her now :) I'm so terrible with the animation cancel swaps... I am only really able to do it when YangYang is using her air attack right before the slam.

Just found out you can do any combo of Youhu’s deliberately. You can rerun her artifact by dashing and holding the atk during the dash animation. Once you get what you want then atk and lock in the one you want.
Her hold is actually not random. If you have an extremely fast reflex, you can stop at the artifact you want. It always goes through different antiques in the same order.
As valuable as this character may or may not be I am NOT risking getting an S1 Jiyan with Camellya around the corner, my first ten pull in this game trying to get mortefi copies led to me getting Jiyan instead, not trying to repeat that And since I lost my 50/50 on shorekeeper to encore I have a guarantee and it will not be used on Jiyan’s S1
getting an early 5 star is one of the best outcomes for doing a random 10 pull at low pity, but if you used your guaranteed pity then kinda your own fault cuz you shouldn't be pulling at all (since prioritizing 5* is way more important)

Honestly I'd say she's nice to have, if you're looking at Tower you have SK or Verina in the middle (depending on the setup), the other one of those 2 on the other side, and Youhu for the 3rd tower with slight asterisk that you're playing an off field sub dps. Baizhi would also only buff the next character in the rotation, so it works out better
I'm curious if you saw jinshi's forte raise faster given the increase in coordinated damage. Also, in the Yinlin example- when she uses her charged attack and causes the off field strikes, are those damage strikes doubled while yinlin is off field?

Jesus, why i have feeling that half of the people in coments didnt watch the video properly or didnt listen? Youhu is fun but usseles outside of Jinshi team or Zhezhi/Yinlin comp and even then she is barely average because there are better choices. Healing - Verina,Shorekeeper and Baizhi do better, even Jianxin is better choice for that. Damage is almost nonexistent so not even as sub DPS. Utility for team? none. She is just a meme character, for some fun to play but thats all.
Got her pretty easily with just a single ten pull. The explanation of her kit was long so I looked for a guide. She’s pretty simple. I’ll build her for my Xiangli Yao team since I only intend to play Shorekeeper on the last floors and my Xiangli Yao just isn’t done yet
On the account where I wanted Youhu, I got 5 copies of Sanhua (already S6). On the account where I wanted Sanhua copies, I got 3 copies of Youhu. Actually rigged. We need a 4 star selector pity system (at least every other 50/50 win should give the one you want).
Got her while trying my luck for some Mortefi copies which I didn’t get not sure if I should bother building her I know we just got Shorekeeper but I want another 5* limited healer support
My biggest problem is always the 3rd tower because i have used my best supports and damage dealers to 3star the first 2 and i'm short of characters to use. At least now that i got Shorekeeper i don't have to use both Baizhi and Jianxin for heals or shields. Still, i do expect one more better healer/shielder than those 2 because i personally don't like their gameplay.
She's an adorable brat. Though her EN voice sounds sooo weird from such a small girl. I didn't want to buy a copy from the shop, so I just risked it since I was at 9 pity from Shorekeeper, and I felt safe spending 1 + 10 pull to try and get her, and fortunately I got a copy. Though I mostly got her for collection (though I'll build her after the characters with more priority are done). Hopefully by then I'll have some of her Resonance Chain, since she enters the 4 Star pool in 1.4.

Her outro does not specifically say for the next character so does this mean it will buff all characters coordinated attack? So for instance if you run both zhezhi and yinlin.
Ohhh bruh, you basically have the xangling-lvl-of-utility called Sanhua, you are missing so much on her then, imho is the best and fastest supporter, sub-dps so far.
Yinlin and Zhezhi are my favorite characters....Doubling those coordinated attacks might warrant grabbing 1 copy of her.... Especially since the coordinated attacks remain doubled if you switch off the character after....doesnt she literally double the usefulness of coordinated attackers even if you use them in the traditional off field dps role?
I just want to praise Kuro here. They added her to the shop, which is incredible. No more 150 pulls just to get a 4* I don't really care about that, she is 80 coral. The coral will come back eventually, but my luck is abysmal, so a guaranteed shop buy is a Godsend, especially as a character collector.
I'll probably see if I can get her from a single 10-pull, since I'm not interested in Jiyan. But I really like her animations, so she'd at least be nice to have.
Just bought some Lunite, I bought the 1980 one, It will give double only once per price tier. I just did two 10 convenes one after the other got Jiyan and Youhu straight away.
Literally not sweating this whole 2nd half update till next big one, i personally think shes not worth for me, yes she looks fun but the game doesn't offer much resources
her biggest plus is she is performing with such low investment obviously she is a 4 star and she will never match a shorekeeper or verina but if you are interested in good design and fun mechanics this character is for you !
What about going full atk% on weapons and stats and then go energy regen on Echos? Her heal scales of atk, right? Does the extra atk% compare to the heal bonus you wouldve gotten from the heal echo set?
Are like "extra" atacks wich hit along with the atacks you are doing that could be off field done by certain abilities of the characters they guy above named and i add jiyan outro too In the case of zhezi are the white spirits after she cast her ulti if i'm not wrong

I have a fully built R6 Baishi and R2 Verina, and both of them are lying in the ditch somewhere for quite some time ever since I got my Shorekeeper. I'm also gonna cut my Lunite Subscription once I got Camellya, because buying monthly subs for Wuwa, Genshin, Star Rail and ZZZ are too much.

Dont think even Youhu's S6 can compete with a S0 Shorekeeper due to the better multiplicative buffs that Shorekeeper provides

getting an early 5 star is one of the best outcomes for doing a random 10 pull at low pity, but if you used your guaranteed pity then kinda your own fault cuz you shouldn't be pulling at all (since prioritizing 5* is way more important)

Honestly I'd say she's nice to have, if you're looking at Tower you have SK or Verina in the middle (depending on the setup), the other one of those 2 on the other side, and Youhu for the 3rd tower with slight asterisk that you're playing an off field sub dps. Baizhi would also only buff the next character in the rotation, so it works out better
I'm curious if you saw jinshi's forte raise faster given the increase in coordinated damage. Also, in the Yinlin example- when she uses her charged attack and causes the off field strikes, are those damage strikes doubled while yinlin is off field?

Jesus, why i have feeling that half of the people in coments didnt watch the video properly or didnt listen? Youhu is fun but usseles outside of Jinshi team or Zhezhi/Yinlin comp and even then she is barely average because there are better choices. Healing - Verina,Shorekeeper and Baizhi do better, even Jianxin is better choice for that. Damage is almost nonexistent so not even as sub DPS. Utility for team? none.
She is just a meme character, for some fun to play but thats all.
Got her pretty easily with just a single ten pull. The explanation of her kit was long so I looked for a guide. She’s pretty simple. I’ll build her for my Xiangli Yao team since I only intend to play Shorekeeper on the last floors and my Xiangli Yao just isn’t done yet
Zhezhi (Main DPS) + Sanhua & Youhu is so much fun in TOA!
On the account where I wanted Youhu, I got 5 copies of Sanhua (already S6). On the account where I wanted Sanhua copies, I got 3 copies of Youhu. Actually rigged. We need a 4 star selector pity system (at least every other 50/50 win should give the one you want).

As a veteran in gatcha game nvr invest on a 4* until u sure about getting their multiple copies for more potential
My biggest problem is always the 3rd tower because i have used my best supports and damage dealers to 3star the first 2 and i'm short of characters to use. At least now that i got Shorekeeper i don't have to use both Baizhi and Jianxin for heals or shields. Still, i do expect one more better healer/shielder than those 2 because i personally don't like their gameplay.

I didn't want to buy a copy from the shop, so I just risked it since I was at 9 pity from Shorekeeper, and I felt safe spending 1 + 10 pull to try and get her, and fortunately I got a copy. Though I mostly got her for collection (though I'll build her after the characters with more priority are done). Hopefully by then I'll have some of her Resonance Chain, since she enters the 4 Star pool in 1.4.

Her outro does not specifically say for the next character so does this mean it will buff all characters coordinated attack? So for instance if you run both zhezhi and yinlin.

Ohhh bruh, you basically have the xangling-lvl-of-utility called Sanhua, you are missing so much on her then, imho is the best and fastest supporter, sub-dps so far.

Yinlin and Zhezhi are my favorite characters....Doubling those coordinated attacks might warrant grabbing 1 copy of her....
Especially since the coordinated attacks remain doubled if you switch off the character after....doesnt she literally double the usefulness of coordinated attackers even if you use them in the traditional off field dps role?
I just want to praise Kuro here. They added her to the shop, which is incredible. No more 150 pulls just to get a 4* I don't really care about that, she is 80 coral. The coral will come back eventually, but my luck is abysmal, so a guaranteed shop buy is a Godsend, especially as a character collector.
The user interface for Y is a lot like the user interface from punishing Gray Raven.
I'll probably see if I can get her from a single 10-pull, since I'm not interested in Jiyan. But I really like her animations, so she'd at least be nice to have.

Just bought some Lunite, I bought the 1980 one, It will give double only once per price tier. I just did two 10 convenes one after the other got Jiyan and Youhu straight away.
80 corals or 10 wishes, might be for some people the difference of getting limited 5 star or not.

Thanks for the review. Sadly, I won't be risking my pity for a 4-star char that I won't be using. I have a fully built R6 Baishi and R2 Verina, and both of them are lying in the ditch somewhere for quite some time ever since I got my Shorekeeper. I'm also gonna cut my Lunite Subscription once I got Camellya, because buying monthly subs for Wuwa, Genshin, Star Rail and ZZZ are too much.
Im glad i never started ZZZ. Before it came out was super hype but nah.
