Love all your projects - though I've not joined in with Sampler September myself. But I have just ordered Spring Quaker and I'd love to join in with your SAL (my first SAL!) I plan to start on the first day of winter which is December 21st here in the UK. I don't know whether it's different dates across the northern hemisphere but that's when I'll be starting. A year ago we moved high up into the wilds of the Peak District (think Keira Knightley standing atop dramatic rocky outcrops in Pride and Prejudice) and last winter was very dark, very cold, very wet, very windy, very snowy and very, very long so this SAL will be perfect! Cant wait!!

You have inspired me to start a sampler! I saw the Dutch beauty and now I’m intrigued because I have Dutch ancestry. I have just picked up cross stitch again from a long break but I have been quilting and knitting so I have a lot going on right now. I may start a smaller sampler to start but I will add Dutch beauty to my list for sure!

Love the new haircut. The way you did the satin stitch reduces bulk at the back, but also saves on thread. Many people do it that way for those reasons. There is nothing wrong with doing it the way you did. If you want to change the way you do them, go ahead, but you don't really have to change. The bulk at the back kind of "pushes" the stitches out a bit and that is why satin stitches look a bit poofy. Hope to see you at the next meeting or the shop before that probably.

Your satin stitches aren’t incorrect. That’s actually how many people do them to reduce bulk on the back of the piece. I love all of your projects. You seem to make things call to me that normally aren’t my style 😆
