    Very informative video. Like a surgeon or dentist, the calming voice, expert advice b4, during and after assembly reassured me and reduced my anxiety even tho I've done auto repair all my life thanks to my brother's auto experience and just like this guy, calming guidance. Bravo! Very educational do-it-yourself video 😎😉🙏🌞

      @@QueenTNiya actually I ended up having all four hoses being bad. I had my mechanic do two of them while he was doing some other work and then I was planning on doing the other to myself.
      However, being that I purchased the worst car on the planet, the Buick encore, not long after, the catalytic converter went out and the tranny started slipping. I ended up voluntarily relinquishing the vehicle back to the lender. Just couldn't afford $9,000 in repairs after having already put $9,000 of work in it while still owing $18,000 on it.

    This video was spot on. Just a few tips I learned while doing this.
    1. Testing the pressure is a must. I thought the part shown was the cause of my leak based on visual inspection of the leaking. Turns out my car just had a bad o ring on the overflow release hose. Didn't figure that out until the whole coolant outlet was replaced. Lesson learned.
    2. If you are not very strong using regular pliers to release all those clamps is a no go. Def need the hose clamp pliers that are made for the job. Ask me how I know.
    3. Would recommend the extender to catch the coolant.
    Thanks for the great video. Super helpful!

    Thank you for this video. Turns out the connection from the radiator had broken off and the only thing keeping it from spewing all of the coolant was the hose clamp. I'm glad I bought the entire thing cause we're down to one car for a bit. Also in could not find an E-11 locally but I used and 5/16 and it worked beautifully. Explaining the senor connectors was the key for me. Thanks again for spending the time to make this helpful video 👍

    This video saved me time. I could do it myself but my Encore is still under an extended warranty. I'm on the phone now trying to figure out the logistics of getting my vehicle over to the dealership for the repair. I also have a shopping list for them to take care of. Despite my list it has been a great car for myself. It's a 16 Premium but I had no choice to buy it during the height of the market after my accident. 30mpg combined but I don't have a lead foot. If the new GX's weren't 33 grand I'd consider trading my 16 in for a new one.

    Very informative video, couple of thing I learned 1) I wouldn't have to purchase the water port system that came w/thermostat for $50bucks..2) Didn't necessarily have replace Thermostat being the only spoken issue was a leak..3) The actual leak on the vehicle I worked on was actually from a hose connection that appeared to somehow gotten overheated and cracked to point of been brittle and broke loose during removal which left a portion of that port lodged inside of the hose itself barley being held their by the clamp..because I wondered where was that broken piece I identified it's location and lastly but not really that there was an actual gasket I need to inspect per your video. Thank you for bringing me to back to checking Price, Process, and through INSPECTION. TEXAS HEAT DOESN'T PLAY..PROJECT BEEN DONE IN 100°Temp..No Shade.No Tent, just that hurry up heat. Lol

    Man am i relieved seeing you cover this subject being that i dont see many encore videos on youtube but i see plenty enclave videos but theyre not squeaky clean either with the junk 3.6. Im commenting to this 4yr old video you did since my moms ' 15 encore leaves a puddle of [dex-cooL] that just started yesterday @ 79 thousand miles. I moved the hose thinking that would remedy it then thought it was the thermostat sticking creating pressure in the system. i hate the "new GM" new vehicles born with problems. Obd1 tbi and carburetor vehicles forever. thats all the technology we need. some wont agree but i enjoy the oldie but goodie stuff. Happy Holidays to you jen and the gussman

    If you feel the need to use grease use high temperature silicon based grease,!!!!! Regular grease is petroleum based and it will weaken / deteriorate the rubber O-Ring. There are several brands of High Temp Silicon Brake parts grease that would work just fine. I especially liked how you showed the exact steps for removing those connectors. I couldn’t get the one with the orange/red tab off because I wasn’t aware that you have to also push the black tab as well. I think in Canada that $20 Amazon AC Delco part would be about $45 because we get ripped off up here.

      @@NoNonsenseKnowHow I have a 2014 Chevy Sonic RS 1.4 turbo (Korean). Over the last 8 months I have been losing coolant. I have replaced the thermostat and plastic coolant reservoir, among other things. The transmission is 6 speed automatic. Only when driving uphill, if I leave the rpms around 2K, the car throws error code 89, beeps and loses power. No code is thrown if I downshift and raise rpms around 3K or 4K, with or without using the paddles. No such code is thrown when driving on flat ground or gentle climbs. Please advise. Thank you.

    I prefer the aftermarket aluminium version of that part. I just had a situation where every possible code came up and the car radiator fan wouldn't shut off - it turned out to be the coolant inlet part according to Buick SERVICE people. It has a sensor attached to it.
    You have to remove the air intake and unplug the alternator to get at the area

    Same issue with me. All i needed to do was replace the coolant tank; as that return hose that returns the coolant to the reservoir was slowly dissipating out of that (now failed), hose. The replacement of the reservoir itself and hoses fixed it.
    The issue for me was the same symptom wise; but I noticed the plastic nippple on top of the coolant tank where the top hose slides on; had broken away from the tank.;;

    I have coolant leaking from the hose you where touching at 1:13 in the video how do I find the replacement hose for that?

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's your heater core hose. You should be able to find replacement hoses on the Internet or at a local parts store. You might want to take it off first though and inspect why it's leaking. Could be a torn o- ring, corrosion, or another issue

    Note to everyone.:
    DO NOT PURCHASE THE BUICK ENCORE.
    I purchased my 2018 Buick Encore with 47,000 mi on it. Here are all the things that went wrong with it:
    Broken throttle, broken water pump, all four coolant hoses bad, broken blower, broken condenser, broken compressor, bad catalytic converter, bad housings on the sway bar, cracked CV joint, until the final straw, transmission slipping.
    The warranty paid for the first $9,000 in repairs. Then the warranty ran out. Then the catalytic converter and transmission failed, and I was responsible to pay for that out of pocket.
    I voluntarily relinquished the vehicle back to the lender to put it up for auction, while I figure out how to get off the hook for it.
    I gave GM a chance. I read all the reviews. I thought how bad could it be?
    Now, I'm looking at filing for bankruptcy just to get out of paying for this nightmare of an experience.
    Luckily, my son had an extra vehicle, a 2000 Acura legend. With 200,000 mi on it. Runs like a dream.
    Do not buy the Buick goddamn encore.

    Also be very careful with "good n tight". Those bolts are only 6mm threads and its dead easy to strip them. They are only torqued to 71 inch pounds.. I.e not very tight at all!

      Honestly I'm not a hundred percent sure without looking out what you're talking about. If it's the nipple on the tank then what time you have to replace the whole tank. If you can't find the part anywhere I might be best to try the dealership. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. And thank you

    Can you please tell me if the process would be the same to replace the "pressure hose" for the A/C, which I'm told is leaking and why my A/C isn't blowing cold. Now is not a time I can afford $400. for this but Phoenix is already up to the high 80's. Thanks.

      No it would not be the same process as this

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the system is already completely empty and depressurized then you could just replace the high pressure hose and recharge the system. But chances are it still has Freon in it and you would want to have it recovered at an automotive shop before replacing the hose
