Yeah I’ve got a mate in the trade that had the same problem and he put some of that form pipe shield on and taped it on the handle and he doesn’t get shocked any more he only get shocked off his apprentice with little pranks like turning a socket feed on when he’s second fixing lol
Over & under cabinet lights in kitchens I always connected to lighting circuit - on 2/3 gang switch at the kitchen door. In other rooms I always wired 5A sockets from the lighting circuits for table lamps switched as you walk in the room. Customers loved it. I hate walking into a room and switching on table lamps like a peasant.
Just wanted to say really happy for you how far you've come on the channel!! I have watched you from the start and even went on my own which has been the best decision I've made. ❤
Have you ever done a steel framed house? Ie our walls are so old it’s like straw. I have videos on my profile. We would love to do the chace thing as we don’t like the trunking.
You got me at the start. With the vacuum - get a thin bit of chain long enough to self tapping screw one end into the metal handle and let the other drag along the ground. You won't get any more static shocks.
house sounds like traditional brick with block and beam floors , anyway smart way for cabinet lights in kitchens is feeds above units , most decent cabinet lighting these days is fed from led drivers, keep the good video's coming Nick👍
It's not a fire barrier if it's one single dwelling. The open stairwell means it's all in one zone for fire purposes. But still good to fill holes with the good stuff.
Just a note to let you know that I watch TH-cam on my Samsung TV and there is no ability to tick a like button. Perhaps others have the same issue worldwide? I subscribed ages ago and enjoy your stuff. I am a licensed sparky down under and interested in some of the different rules you have to us. All the best Colin. Melbourne. Australia
On the static handle on the hoover, get some pushbike innertube rubber (something similar) to wrap around the handle just where the vent is with some zip ties should stop that :)
Major congratulations been watching since way back . U have grown massive in confidence and content. So good u havnt gone down the artisan route and massively modified your subs. Obv need to make it work but there is squeezings and wringing subs . 100k on way 🎉
Nice to meet you in CEF Stafford the other day. I would have liked to spent a bit more time chatting but as usual work is flat out. Maybe next time. Daz DRP Woodseaves. Yes I am a sad spark. 😂
Fire stopping... I don't do mains, but I design a lot of things with cable runs. One client had an equipment room (with fire suppression system) on raised flooring, with offices on the other side of its walls. Our cable runs were under-floor and extended out of the equipment room. We'd expected to find an under-floor wall we'd need to penetrate for our cables, which we'd later have to seal with fire-stop. No wall present. Reported it, massive hoo-ha ensued and it was rectified very quickly*. I don't know when the wall had been removed, as the fire suppression test would've failed instantly. *Not before we'd run our cables. Result, as we didn't have to fire-stop!
When air has particulates In it in areas such as dusty dry it can cause issues plus also surface area having too much free flowing dust causes friction and friction causes static electricity thus when you touch the handle u get a shock u could see if bags is an issue or filter problem letting go many particulates through
Genuinely got me there dude. :) Mwahahahaha. I'd have considered fire foam for those holes, it'd be a shit to mastik those. Pop some tape over the handle of the vac, no more shocks. :)
Nice work Nick & Adam Would using some conduit connected to the concrete ceiling be an option to run the cables through? Just to make it easier if a cable needs to be moved/replaced in the future?
When air flow has particles in it it causes friction thus causes heat and the end result is static and the handle is metal so it will go there n u will get zapped check the filter also if possible. Upgrade the bags or divertairflor away from handle
And also love all you work you and Adam have been doing good on the lad picking the trade we always need good Sparkys and it’s a trade for life big come grats for nearing 100k been what happened you since day one only thing is I’ve have to use a second TH-cam account to sub again as TH-cam removed my first one for someone swearing in one one my gaming streams
QUESTION!!! Do u get asbestos report done or ask customer for 1 before u do ceilings ( obv most artex has it … thanks also good to educate people on the risk as not everyone realises artex mostly has asbestos in it
Hey Nick, American electrician here in New Hampshire. I'm just curious why you bury those wago boxes on new construction when in my eyes it seems you could have everything terminated in switch boxes and the lights in obvious and easily accessible locations. I know the wago boxes are accessible from the down lights but it seems like more trouble to pull that down if there's ever a problem in the future. Over here we're not allowed to bury any kind of junction box so I'm just wondering what your reasoning is. Is it to save a couple cable runs and avoid extra wires in switch boxes? Seems like it's pretty standard in the UK. Love the videos, thanks!
I don’t live far from you Nick, just outside you’re turf but I’d love to work on a job with you. We can compare notes about someone’s mum 😂 😂 no names mentioned 😂#teamnick #loveyouadam 😂

2400 more spots left before Nick licks the live wire for his 100k subscriber finale

Re-igniting the spark! Brill 2-page spread in the Competent Person NAPIT mag Bundy 👌
You should be near a million, you're a sound person!

Love the videos, Nick, but I did fall for the Adam thing... Git! 😉

Yep got me there. I think of nothing worse than a concrete house rewire.
Wrap a piece of plumbers pipe insulation around the handle of the vacuum cleaner, job done. That's if you'll touch plumbery things. 😂
You normally use oval tube for your drops, why the change? Just curious
Local wholesaler hasn’t got any in for ages mate that’s all
Hey Nick, hope you are ok?
Just wondering if you can give any advice on the best way to get into the industry at 30 years old please?
Great Content Nick ,enjoy watching and learning ⚡️👊
9:29 shots fired 😆😆😆
Nick you delivered on the kitten, my thanks. Can we also have a possible cameo of Adam's mum too? xD
Nick will you be getting the new Bosch GNB 18v 38 concrete nail gun to try as you are the BOSCH tool guy?
You could have used MF and GL2 hangers for less loss of ceiling height. Chased flex conduit for drop downs.

100K subscribers is just a hop, skip and a jump away
You joker got me worried, Nick. I am sending you to the circus 😅
As always love the videos
Thought you were going to lose your fingers with that Stanley knife at 5.15😢
Wouldn’t be the first time mate
Doddle of a rewire, dropped ceilings and a bit of chasing, better than occupied any day.
Get yourself some fire foam then use sealant after it’s dried.
Why not just use fire foam?
Fire foam will penetrate further into the hole & fire sealant to be sure. Belts and braces.
Work only pays nickels and dimes that's why poop on company time 👌

If that handle was earthed there would be no static
Why joint boxes ? Seems odd on a new job
❤👍👍👍👍👍
