CCR has some amazing songs. Three of my faves are "Long As I Can See The Light", "Heard it Through the Grapevine" (Find the album version) and "Wrote a Song For Everyone".
First time I heard CCR, I was 11 years old. I was raised in a crazy, oppressive religion and wasn’t allowed to listen to rock music, but one night I got to spend the night with a school friend. One of her parents wasn’t in the church and had CCR playing. I’ll never forget it - blew my little mind. Yep, every once in awhile the world would creep into the box in which I lived. Grateful as fuck, too.
Just with a few words spoken I can see the love you have for your father. I send the smokes of my prayers to you and your family circle. And remember, if you ever get lost, come on home to green river!
The music I grew up with love CCR in honor of Steve Perry winning Billboard's favorite Rock Singer how about some Journey would love you to check out Walks Like a Lady live in Osaka
Try one of their longer tracks where they jam a bit more. "Suzie Q" (8-minute studio version, or one of the 10+ minute live versions), "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" (11 minutes), "Ramble Tamble" (7+ minutes), "Keep on Chooglin'" (7+ minutes, and there's a good video of the live performance in Oakland, 1970), "Pagan Baby" (5+ minutes), "Born on the Bayou" (5+ minutes, "Feelin' Blue" (5+ minutes), "Effigy" (5+ minutes).
They had to be short back in the real day just to get on AM Radio . Any thing longer than 3 minutes got knocked off by " The Archies " or the Partridge Family . Just the way it was .
Moody Blues - Question / I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band / Your wildest dreams / nights in white satin / Tuesday afternoon --- enjoy love ya all . Jesus coming soon be prepared.
Hey man, love the reactions. Please listen to “Love is Gone (Acoustic)” by Slander. The song and its lyrics kill me emotionally every time I listen to it. Remember, it has to be the acoustic version lol. Have a great day man.
