Nothing sketchy there that I saw ;) well done lad. You've got the job done with what you had to hand and with that attitude, you'll go far. Just a word of advice from an old man, I wouldn't consider a career in occupational health and safety if I was you, it'd drive you nuts.
Looks good Alex. I prefer the trailer being as long as it is out the back, it protects the vulnerable rudder when towing and its all galvanised. If you cut it shorter you would create a break in it causing a vulnerability for corrosion. Even though your cradles are great and will support the hull good, the boat will have to be floated on and off, the beauty of the rollers the trailer had is that the would push off easily. My 22ft powerboat it moves with one hand, even sat out the water. I can launch it without getting the wheel bearings wet, which is handy...
I agree it offers great protection! The rollers would be nice but the hull is too lightweight to take the pressure of the rollers. Will be interesting trying it with the bunks!
Looks good to me. Good job all round especially tough doing it alone. When i lifted my Hawk (650 kg) for antifoul the support frame ended up leaning with the boat on it as i pulled the trailer away lol. Maybe round off the corners on the side support frames. It will hurt less if you walk into one.
Alex, Alex Alex! You are a man of many talents! Is there anything that you can’t do, another impressive episode. You made me nervous to say the least. The bloody trailer looks like it would move the queen Mary. Have the Happiest of Christmas with the family. Rob
Hey Alex, nice job on the new trailer. One thing though on the support for the outriggers i noticed that you double nutted them. Just like on a propeller shaft the thinner nut should be on the inside to tighten down on the bolt or shaft, but the thicker nut should be your locking nut on the outside as it has more threads for locking force against the inner nut. Keep up the good work!!!
the age old question, is it stupid if it works?? YES 🤣 yes it s. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But you pulled it off and still have a boat and all your fingers. Interesting video 2x👍
Nice one Alex another great vlog, love your calmness although I suspect in real time there was a fair bit bit of industrial language and bum clinching going on lol 😮
The clinching yes but colourful language surprisingly not! Was actually a really smooth process but I have learned a lot from my previous sketchy boat manoeuvrings😂
At 19:43 the only problem I see there is you have a point load on the cradle. I'm not an expert on fiberglass, so take my comment with a grain of salt. Since you did this a while ago, how did it work out?
Yes I see what you mean! Once I bolted it to the cradle it spread it out a bit but also the cradle is so beefy that it didn’t even leave a mark after I had it like that. I was surprised 😂
You are an amazing engineer tinker creator!
Thank you!!!

😂 I think that career will never be in my future! Thank you for the support I really appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Thanks Alex yes is there nothing you cannot do You are a busy man Have a good one
Thanks Jeff! You too!
Very impressive

Thank you! Definitely hard to move boats when they aren’t floating!
Brave!

I think everyone been jacking up their boat lol 😂 done mine few months ago
I'm watching you go back and forth so many times. I'll bet you wish you had another person there.
Oh definitely 😂. Has to be done though!
Well done sir
Great job Alex 👍 that’s a beast of a trailer
It is indeed! Thanks for watching!
A bit sketchy, but well thought out. Good job.
Would I try that? Maybe forty years ago.
Thank you! I do have age on my side luckily!

fair play to you keep up the good work
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Great wk! I never follow too closely behind someone pulling a trailer…
Great idea 😂 I don’t blame you! Thanks for watching!
Heath Robinson comes to mind
😂

@@AlexGoesSailing Nice!
Hi Alex, it will be interesting to see if the car is suitable for the combined weight of trailer and boat with all the gear.
It is with some weight to spare even!
As they say (people who have to work alone) what ever gets the job. Good on yer.
Thanks Joe! The challenge is fun!
Perfectly a good loan working?
It’s a great project to have!
It didn’t look sketchy at all. Same way I would do it. As long as you know your blocking is stable there’s nothing to it.
Definitely easy enough if you take the time to methodically do it!
It may be a bit inconvenient to arrange a police escort every time you take it out LOL
Don’t need to based on the measurements! Close though
Is that length legal?
Yes!
