- In this video, I’m sharing how I scored 135 out of 160 on Duolingo English Test. I’ve passed this exam without preparation, so I’m also sharing my tips and tricks on how to successfully pass it. I’m going through the types of tasks and what you’re expected to answer. I'm also telling you about the pros and cons of the Duolingo English Test and comparing it to IELTS and TOEFL. hey, I just got my test scores back and I just had to let you know immediately! I got 135 points yey. my test score range was between 130-155 constantly. To those who are taking this test I advise you to really study videos on image description and writing because honestly, I think those are the two categories that made me lose my 145 lol. I was aiming for 145-150 hahah, but this is absolutely good enough. you’re the first video I watch ab the duolingo test. i’m glad I did! thank u

Watched a few of your videos before giving the exam. Got 140 score! Thanks a lot for such informative videos. Make one on Duolingo rules too! My first attempt was deemed invalid because I subconsiously looked away from the screen during a speaking question. And I was extra cautious during the next attempt, and got 140!

I did the test today for real exam. I was in a separated room isolated and it take me out for 3 times it said that I was something like moving but I was on front of the camera and then wanted me to pay again. I was absolutely alone with nothing around me. I was completely disappointed and didn't understand why!!!

Lucas van Passel Hey pal! I don't really have an advice but one thing that helped me was practicing the free test A LOT and watching movies, tv shows and all of that in English with the subtitles in english on as well. 120 isnt a bad score, I’m pretty sure that the next time you will get the score! good luck my friend!
Saswati Bhattacharjee I just remember one picture and it was about 2 guys on a little port in some short of lake/river, it was kind of hard but you just have to say stuff, that’s the only thing that I can say about that kind of question
Hey, there Yulia. It has been a long time since I stopped using English in my daily life. I just watched your video and jumped into a Duolingo Test with no previous preparation, just with your recommendations. I got 115. I think is a very good score. My wrongs were due because I didn't know the format and those weird topics about frog evolution and on ancient Egypt dentistry. Thanks a lot.

My practice tests showed the range from 105-150. So I hope I’ll do my best....
Also, talking to yourself on camera is very uncomfortable and awkward.... for me. Sometimes I can just stop and stay silent for a minute ...
P.S: Update! I got 120 points. Which was exactly what I mostly got during “test tests”. Two days after I decided to pass it again (it felt like I can do better now since I already know what the real test looks like). I got 120 points for the second try as well 😅Good thing is that for my college I need exactly not less then 120... I know would be better to have little more but I hope they will still consider

Saswati Bhattacharjee you sing the policy which is not allowed you to share any kind of test questions. But I can say that it was the same as practice test!

At the top you'll see practice test, then scroll down and you'll see Purchase the test. You'll have to use your master or visa card or PayPal. After that, you'll see Take the test(you don't have to take it immediately)

I like the speech, very light and dynamic. I would like to speak so, now I`ve passed through my first trial Duolingo test, and 95-105 score... I think I need more to repeat, cause at university it was 7.5 (for IELTS) about 20 years ago((( the language need permanent practice...thank you for video, I`ve got value insights about this test. 👌
Without any prior training or advice i got 125-140 score in the practice test. i made blunder mistakes since i was not aware of the timing for every question!!! well after seeing this video, i might perfect my score beyond that!!!
Edit: i took three more practice tests and scored 115-140,120-150,110-150. Today i also took the real test. Hope it crosses 120.

Actually now you get specific scores for reading speaking writing and listening. It’s like a combination of 2 of those that makes 1.Literacy 2.Comprehension 3. Production 4.Conversation. So now you get a complete breakup of your scores. And the passage you got about math and science even i got that which was bit difficult you only get that if you have answered better in previous parts and scores go beyond 120 that’s how the algorithm is designed. I scored 140 because of that passage😣

Hello, Can you please share your picture related question? In the comment section I found you were talking about reading and listening section? What type of question they are? I did not find them in practice test.
Saswati Bhattacharjee do not depend on the Practice test because it is not even 20% of what you are going to get in the real test. The practice test is just an example and to provide you with the exam structure.
Can you share some specific tips on how to score more? I only scored 110 :(
Mahhi Veerpal first test your microphone and keyboard properly, it’s computer based to if there is some disturbances in background or your microphone then it’ll affect your scores.
*try to answer everything don’t leave anything blank or empty.
* try to use uncommon English words like accommodations instead of flat, cottage, residential house instead of just house etc.
* fill up the Passage try to fill everything first whatever you can and they re read it again to make sure if it makes sense if it doesn’t try with different words, passages will have a proper meaning and should make sense.
* be fluent so even if you make grammatical mistakes if you’re fluent enough it’ll get you extra points.
* if you’re not a everyday English speaker, then practice with friends and family will help in improving your grammar. English is easy however it’s difficult when it comes to grammar and forming sentences without making mistakes, only practice will help you with this👍

Got a 135 lesgoo!!! To anyone getting a bit worried in the prep process, ts pretty easy don't worry, just write a lot and talk a lot without submitting it as soon as the basic requirement is reached.....

@@royalking652 TBH the exam isn't hard but when u take it fully prepared u will realise that the thing that u haven't been preparing for is the time , So u must train ur self on solving as fast as possible while maintaining the ability to understand what the question really is .
@@mahmoudnasra4191 OK actually I will try to take the Duolingo test but still I haven't any material fir preparation So that's why I'm little bit confuse.
One more thing in the final test can we listen the audio one to more time Such as when they tell us speak it your self or type what you hear...??

Thank you Yulia. From the July 7th subscores will be available on the certificate, amazing!. I emailed the Duoilngo support section yesterday asking them for each skill grade and they told me that.

I got 135 out of 160 in duolingo i got my result yesterday it very good experience for me i can say that it’s not easy because your atmosphere really effect your performance in exam because u really need very calm environment and need to great concentration so keep so mind conscious all the best
