    Hi Jimmy! Good for you not caving to the complainers. There's no reason for you to not review products that can be helpful to our hobby, and give your honest opinion. Also, your info might help a person to decide what to get, even if they don't get that one... Brilliant how that fellow used the window-well as a nook for the raised platform of the railroad. All the best!

    Hey Jimmy!!!! You’re getting rave reviews! First of all, thank you so much for making me part of your community. Congratulations to all the guys that made it on your channel today. There are a bunch of great layouts out there.(I’m envious of all of them) . you have a great channel, with great content and wonderful host. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing! I am drinking sprouts organic espresso roast today.

    Hi Jimmy, Thanks for featuring my layout. My first N scale starting out as DC. I got hooked on DIY scenery and learning more from your videos. I'm planning on building a second larger N scale one as DCC. Thanks to the 3rd car garage space!

      Hi Lon. I gotta give you props here. Your layout is amazing. Your layout captured the imagination and virtually takes you into the scenes. It feels so "alive". Nice job, especially for your first model RR.
      I have all I can do to keep my little 2x3 foot Hammer Valley Model RR in shape, LOL. Did manage to at least make a few videos of it along the way. Started it in 2020. Basically stuck to the original plan with just a few changes.
      Anyways, keep up the great work on your journey in model RR.

    My parents built a fold-up layout on the wall of my bedroom in the 90s. I could just climb right from my bunk bed to the middle of the layout to help trains that got stuck in the back. When we moved we mounted it in the basement at the new house, and I think it's still there folded up on the wall.

    Jimmy, thanks for mentioning my foldable layout in your clip.
    The idea did emerge from a need for an easy to put away system for testing JMRI and DCC++ items.
    Folded, it takes now 120*50*23 cm in my garage. 😃

      Do you have anything you put between the layout and the window when you fold it up so it isn’t either in display to anybody outside or just not as exposed to the light outside?

    • @PhantomRC1959
      @PhantomRC1959 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewlaverghetta715: No, I don't put anything but ... as the window is on the north side of my house I sometime have the sunset that is playing with my IR sensors and then ... it's like a circus ... everything goes wrong 'till I close the curtains.
      As mentioned by Jimmy, this is a test layout for my experiments with Arduino, JMRI and DCC++.
      These days I focus on EX-RAIL (Automation/Animation) on a smaller layout (120*50 cm) but soon I'll step back to the foldable one.

    Hey Jimmy! This is Stephen (silver state trains on TH-cam). I believe my layout was the second one you showed. Thank you for showing my layout and for the feed back. I have made a lot of changes to the layout since I sent this in. I will send in some more photos. Keep up the great work on your channel. Thanks again.

      I chose n scale because I have NO space for the layout and a work bench… my daughter gave a real cool LEGO train set last year and I had to turn it down :-(
      Not enough space

    Loving it Jimmy, thanks for sharing these layouts. I think Philippes Arduino layout is really cool for testing all sorts of scenarios.
    Also, thanks for finding new strength to continue. Abuse being hurled at you over your choices within the hobby is totally unnecessary. Have yourself a great weekend coming up after tomorrow 😊.

    Msybe when im doing reworking mine ill submit it. Gonna finish putting the nails in the mainline loop, then lay rails in the industrial branch. It does feel weird that they have to reverse into the industries directly from the mainline, but its only a 4x8 HO layout. Not much room. And the other siding that will contail rerailers and utilize my station for passenger services! Its a small line that mainly hauls lumber and stone, and takes folks to a lovely camping site. Simple, not very prototypical, but a nice place to watch some running. I should also probably finish the running board for my american thomas

    Mine would probably disappear too, because most of the layouts I'm thinking of have a footprint that would fit into a storage box, if not a boxfile.

    Nice layouts! Only one question: How does he keep the trains from falling off that folding layout? Magnets?

    • @davidf9630
      @davidf9630 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! When I run trains, it usually lasts about a week at a time… then I simply store all the trains ( rolling stock and locos) away in their cases. I fold up the layout till the next time I need my train fix… thanks for asking :-)🚂🚂🚂

    • @PhantomRC1959
      @PhantomRC1959 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is just one answer to this question ;-) … the trains do not fall from my layout as there is a border around it.
      Okay, it’s not very visible but it does the job. I think it’s more obvious in the top left corner of the video.
      As for the magnets … LoL
