When someone comments about how this guy helps them to understand better than their teacher does, it doesn’t mean they dont pay attention in class and their not downing their teacher. Mr Mclogan just teaches everything in a specific way that makes so much sense. I always run to this channel when I run across something I need help with.
My teacher takes and hour and 15 minutes a day teaching this to me and I still didn't understand it. This dude in one five minute video made me feel like Einstein
Him walking away from the board after finishing the problem was equivalent to someone dropping the mic after spitting some fire bars....he just knew he did that! I'm here for it though because I finally know how to do problems like this because of him. Thanks boss!
I'm doing an advanced math course this summer, and there was one unit that I really struggled with. The lady narrating the video took nearly 20 minutes to explain the same concept discussed here, but I still didn't understand by the end of the video. This five minute snippet helped me so much. Thanks!
Thank you dude. I'm taking a math course online and the resources have been lacking...this video taught me more in 5 minutes than the pre-recorded lectures ive been watching. An actual example similar to what I've been seeing on my assignments, step by step in plain English. My professor zoomed through the exponent rules using the most primitive examples, then we saw problems like this on the homework and it seemed so foreign as compared to the examples he showed us. This is what I needed!!!
Thank you so much. You teach me better than my actual prof! You are the one helping me pass my math class!! Math has always been so hard for me and this topic as well. So thank you ❤️😌 every time I don’t understand something I literally come to your page and search for it !!
this guy made me cook on my math hw. thanks a lot. now my math teacher thinks I spent hours of my time studying but I only spent 5 mins thanks to ur amazing video😃
you make things 10x easier to understand I am not joking you have helped me so much, thank you, and i hope god blesses you so much that you become an millionaire lol idk what to say but im just filled with gratitude so thank you so much
i so wish you were my teacher in highschool, more than half the time I go directly to your videos after class so i can acually understand. You have helped me raise my geades sooo muchhh!!! thank you!
How I can solve like this one without the parentheses? For example, 👉🏻x^3y_2/x_5y8 this means X powered 3 y_2/ X_5y8 ?You’re awesome instructor and your videos is very helpful thanks. I am stuck with this
When you reciprocate the fraction from negative squared to positive squared. How exactly do I know that I don’t have to multiply the fraction to itself?
Lets say if there is 2 exponent on the outside of the bracket and one is positive +5 on top and negative -2 on the bottom. When its flipped is 5 exponent still postive?
Great job teaching the procedure for simplifying the expression. At the end of your tutorial your video is blocked by other video previews. Sometimes your work on your board is blocked. I don't know if this is something you have control over. This occurs on all youtube videos, the idea is that your should be done before they obscure your boar
I'm glad I'm watching this. I've been out of college for two months. Just recently got my two associate degrees and my certificate of completion. I remember learning about this kind of problem when I was taking a math course (which I passed with a B) and that I always fucked up on this kind of problem.
I'm incredibly late but in case anyone else wants to know, there were two y's. The 1st Y was (y^5)^2 and that went in the numerator, and the y^4 was added in the denominator because (y^2)^2= y^4.
This was 7 years ago but it still shows how this guy can teach us better in 5 minutes than our teacher spending hours

So in school I get so confused, but right now I literally understood every single thing I didn't understand, thank you!
i wish every teacher was like this, thank you.
into a whole semester and haven't learned a thing from my professor but then i come here and magically know everything. so incredibly helpful.
I respect this man's side hustle of making TH-cam videos
This was before you could monetize videos
Bro teached us in 5 minutes better than teachers that take 3 weeks to explain this
bruh this guy is my saviour, i just checked the grade i got on a test about this and i got a 94 :)
Well done!!
my teacher taught this a different way and called it a 'shortcut' it was just a 'shortcut' to my confusion
He explains everything so much better than my son’s teacher!!! Love his style of teaching!!!!

Professor McLogan is wonderful. He makes algebra simple for simple minds like myself. Thank you Professor McLogan.
The 1st minute of this made me understand everything 😶. Thank you so much

5:25 and how did it turn into y to the 6th over 4 x to the second? why are they positioned like that?
Our teacher would teach us math in more than a month but here, I learned a lot in 5 minutes
I love your videos, they are my go to. My teacher does not explain math in a way that I understand, and you do.
This helps a ton! Thank you.
Man this guy is way better than my teacher,
In the explanation parts
4:56 How did you get that 1/4?
there is a coefficient of 1 in front of the x^4 in the numerator
same principle as 1/2 * x is also x/2. Dividing by 2 is the same as multiplying by 1/2.
Brian McLogan why isn’t the exponent for the denominator in the final answer not negative
@@heapt1 because you can't have a negative so he flipped it to the bottom to turn it to a positive
So, in other words, you don't need the 1, 2, 3, and 4 gibberish. You just flip the problem, times it, and divide and subtract the exponents.
You’re the reason I’m passing college algebra
omg im in ur class, best teacher ever
This was a great explanation 👍
Im watching to learn. Thank you
Very good 😊😊
When you reciprocate the fraction from negative squared to positive squared. How exactly do I know that I don’t have to multiply the fraction to itself?
Are you going to simplify the variables so that it becomes y raised to the sixth power over 4 x squared?
Thank you so much! 9th grade math is killing me, and I‘m not good at focusing face to face lol. This helped a ton!
Question??? is the first problem simplified to final form? Why is y^4 in denominator not subtracted to y^10 in numerator? I'm missing something here.
Watch until the end Lori

hello brian,
Do you have a video on rational expressions with negative number on the outside and negative number on the inside as well?
Lets say if there is 2 exponent on the outside of the bracket and one is positive +5 on top and negative -2 on the bottom. When its flipped is 5 exponent still postive?
not sure I have a couple of playlists on rules of exponents, just search youtube "#exponent mclogan"

How do I turn this into positive exponents: 3u8v4/7u5v2

Happy to look into fixing this, thank you for the heads up
Can you explain why the x became positve, please?
The negative is to the expression not only x
How come the x^-2 goes on the bottom? since it has a negative power, shouldn't it go on the top instead of the bottom? Confusing.but nice work though.
It is already at the top with the minus sign so it went at the bottom. Had it been at the bottom than it would have gone to the top.
1 xˉ² y⁶ 1 1 y⁶ y⁶
─ · ── · ── = ─ · ── · ─ = ──
4 1 1 4 x² 1 4x²
Thanks for making this vid it helps me a lot😊

Great math teacher! :-)
Hey guys I have a question ,where did the negative there go to after he used the power of power rule???
When you flip the numerator and denominator you can change the sign (a/b)^-1= (b/a)^1
two negetives make a positive
Good afternoon sir. May I ask what if the exponent is in fraction? For example
[(4a2b3c-17)2(b3c-4)(2a-2)-2/4a2bc2] 1/2
U could use Photomath
