Gasp! What a stunningly beautiful place that is,! I'm still looking for an open piece of ground big enough for flight. Wawayanda is just perfect! Your videography is amazing. I'm half a planet away & yet I felt the need of cathedral whispers to not break the spell of that morning.
I stumbled across your videos about four months ago and loved them at first sight. Then I saw the first tribute to Lizzy and they took on even more meaning and importance. What a gift you give to all of us who love peace and flight and meaning in life. Each video is a small slice of heaven on earth. Thank you. Keep it up. Peace be with you and those you love.
Fantastic. There's an unmistakable spiritual serenity in your work. Your models are truly beautiful, and so at home in the sky. Thank you. David O'D Laguna Woods CA
Thank you for the grace and calm, Sir. We lost our son in April. I’ve been wanting to repair and fly his first Lancer he built 3 years ago…I’m inspired again. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
Thx for ur comments, Eric. I hope u find the will to follow through with the repairs, and eventual flight. I'm sure it'll be grounding / comforting on some level, as u maneuver through the major changes in ur family's life. Be well.
Thank you for a beautiful gift Sir. I wasn't going to write for fear of causing you more grief over losing your daughter. But, I truly believe that every time to have a plane that catches a thermal, I believe that it my be your daughters spirit that is reaching out you. May GOD bless.
I have always felt the sincere, spiritual emotion in the videos that you post as well as the legacy in your building with respect to honoring others in their journey on this earth. My prayers, thoughts, and favorable winds are flowing your way. Sincerely, Barry.
I share your videos with friends who have no interest in free flight but all of them say the same thing. What wonderful videos. This is a beautiful creation a wonderful tribute to your daughters memory.
Thx, Brad...truly, it was a bit overwhelming when I stepped out of the tent at 530...seeing the moon and the blanket of clouds. Could not believe what I was getting ready to toss the Gollywock up into. Part of me wanted to 'really' wind her up but I backed off the remaining 400 turns, for fear of the mild drift. But in the end, it was perfect. Cheers.
Oh wow , Those high level clouds came out to shine just like the Airplane for the memorial flight ! What a way to remember your daughter , Stunning just stunning . Love from England and keep it up , These little videos are priceless ❤
A wonderful tribute to 'Lizzy'. Great video ... loved the 'time lapse' scenes .. especially the hot air balloon. That Gollywock sure put some distance between itself & you ... did you bring a mini-bike to chase it down ?? ha ha (I remember some guys doing that at contests decades ago). Thanks for sharing a wonderful video.
Beautiful! I am a stills photographer just getting back into video after 20 years away from it and would love to produce footage of this quality. Can you tell me what camera you used, would love to know if you did the effects in camera or with editing software too. Thanks.
Thx for ur comments. I use an older cam for the flight portion, a 2009 Canon PowerShot SX20-IS, and an iPhone 11 Pro for the time-lapse and stills. All effects are done post in iMovie...a rather simple program on a Mac. The bonus of the Canon is that it pairs well with free-flight, since it has only mild stabilization, and limits the optical zoom to 20X. Anything closer becomes nearly uncontrollable without a tripod, which I haven't used, because the flight patterns are unpredictable. The only slight negative is the 720p resolution, but for viewing here, it seems sharp enough. The cams are readily found on various sites like ebay or Mercari for under $100, so they're well worth the small investment. Sometimes old school is far better than new school.
@@maxfliart Totally agree, I have a modern camera and to be honest its probably overkill. Looking at your results 720 looks great on my tablet and the slightly softer look is more faithfull to both the subject and the scene. 4k is all well and good for bigger screens but i think it can look too sharp and almost brittle. Trying to get steady in flight footage with the plane a reasonable size in the viewfinder is challenging and the closer to the lens the better - as you say zoom in past a certain point and its virtually impossible even on a tripod with a fluid head. Thanks for your advice, I think you have achieved wonders and you have set a benchmark for me.
@@jjs3287 Thx, JJ....I'm always trying to get better, ie, keep the cam more steady for the long zooms, but it's never as clean as I want. I don't care to go the route of a steady cam setup, but I am going to at least attempt to use a ball and tripod, maybe monoped, for future flights. I mean it's all for fun after all, but I still would like to settle things down where possible. If it's successful and worth noting, I'll mention it in the descriptions for each film. It takes a village sometimes. But much of what I shoot of other flyers, is spontaneous, on the run, with little time if any to set up a proper shoot. Comes back to the classic, "just get the shot"...
When 'beautiful' is an understatement...
All around the world there is ugliness and terrible things happening, and then there is calm, beauty and peace such as this. Thank you🙂👌

Wow! What a beautiful flight and sunrise. Thanks for another great video to set the mood for the day.
Thank You.
I really like, at the :30 mark, while winding your aircraft, that you took the time to look around and soak up the beauty of the moment. Blue skies!
