Tools you will need:
-a microfiber towel
-2 flat head screwdrivers or a pry tool (but my method is better with the drivers lol)
-some old cards
-painters tape
-your carbon fiber mirror covers from Synth Carbon
-a whole lot of patience

For anyone wondering an easier way without breaking anything, get to the point where you undo the two clips that are visible. Then, proceed by removing the two screws in the front + one below the mirror, sort of hidden unless you push the mirror back. carefully pry the front apart leaving the back/top cap still loosely on the arm. you can maneuver this off the mirror arm and then continue to easily undo the third clip in the back and finally (carefully) slide out the last one which the guy in the video broke.
I did this on my other mirror after figuring it out and i was done in a fraction of the time. reverse the steps to put it back on.
Haven't seen any other alternatives. I think this would be real helpful if you put it into a video so everyone knows exactly what you're talking about. Thanks for the tip 👍
Did you install the new caps with the housing off? I'm having a hell of a time getting the new caps to snap back into place. I can get the inside part done but the outside corner is giving me hell. And I don't want to push on it much more than I already am

I bought mines from Procivic, but the vid helped wit installation. That third clip was a pain. Thanks for the tip using cards to keep the separation. Helped big time

Left side took longer so it woulda dragged the video. I briefly show it on the right side. But honestly it's hard to tell, once you push the 3 clips off the housing, you just needa work both sides prying bit by bit. Hope that helps
Hey. I have a 2021 Civic. My passenger side mirror cap was suddenly missing this week. Just gone. The dealership told me someone lifted it. I ordered a replacement. Questions: 1. Could someone have gotten mine off without removing the mirror? The mirror is intact and appears undamaged. 2. If my mirror is still intact, can I just slide the new one on myself instead of paying the dealer $70? Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply, and sorry to hear about that unfortunate event. 1. I doubt they could've removed it without removing the mirror (check for any screw driver pry marks on the outside edge where the cover was). Even if the side mirror looks undamaged, someone could've easily popped it off and reattached it afterwards. 2. Yes definitely! As long as none of the tabs were broken off and left in side, there should be no hassles popping a new one in there (more pop in there as opposed to slide in there ahaha). @@HDBrzyTV Thanks for the reply! There is a screw driver mark on the outside edge, so I'll bet you're right. At least whoever took it left my mirror behind! I'll save that $70 and give it a try on my own.

So glad I found your video, how long did it take you per mirror? I just bought the same Carbon Fiber Cover from Pro Car and cannot wait to install. But, I would also like to install a mirror with arrow (turn signal) LED's while I have the mirror off but have not found one that is compatible with my FK8. Have you ever seen one for a Civic?
@Kristin Steele Hello! My first mirror took me about 40ish minutes just because I wasn't quite sure what to expect but the other side took no longer than 10! Also, what do you mean by mirror with an arrow. Are you talking about actual side mirrors with the LED indicator for your blind spots? Or the LED arrow indicators below the side mirror caps that blink when you signal? And thanks a million for tuning in, just know your appreciated!
LED arrow indicators on the mirrors--the Tahoe has something similar and I am obsessed!

Is the carbon fiber wrapped on the oem mirror caps or is the whole cap made of carbon fiber?
It's a replacement cover, the part is made of carbon fiber 🙏
