I’m from South Africa and watched and reading this during loadshedding …the comments are hilarious 🤣 🤣 thank you for lighting up the darkness. I’ll try this recipe though 👌🏻
I count 13 ingredients (seven if you just do the cake) and a lot more than a pan. You need bowls, a sifter, a spatula, a shaver, a frother (I don’t know what that’s called), a whisk…what else? Just the cook time on one of those pancakes is 8 minutes. You made three, consecutively, in one pan. That’s at least 24 minutes. I have an alternate recipe for the person who made this video: open a can of condensed milk, drink it, and then beat yourself with the frying pan for 15 minutes. You may start to think you’ve eaten this 13-ingredient dessert.

@@KathleenSmith-kx7fv It's a commercial whipped frosting stabilizer. Most home cooks just use corn starch unless you need it really airy, then the other ingredients help get to a firm peak without being dense or requiring half a lifetime whipping egg whites.
There IS one very simple thing you can make with just sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, a heavy pan, a can opener, and a storage container. You can use a double boiler if you have one, but a heavy pan works perfectly well as long as you watch it and stir continuously. You open up the SCM, then pour it directly into the pan. Turn the burner on LOW. The amount of chocolate chips you add is up to you. You’re going for a blend that tastes good to you AND has the consistency for whatever you want to use it for. Keeping it on low, add chips, stir until they’re completely melted and incorporated into the SCM. Start taste testing once it’s the color of milk chocolate. Not chocolaty enough? Just add more chips and make sure it’s completely incorporated before taste testing again. As for consistency, you can add only enough chocolate that it stays soft enough to scoop out of the container once it’s completely cooled. Or you can add a very large amount of chocolate, making it much harder when cool and suitable for pouring into candy molds (if you have there). You can ice a cake with a thin drizzle or create a hard outer shell of chocolate on anything you want. You can even go for a clay-like consistency, pour it into a suitable greased container that’s around the size of what you want to create, and sculpt it. Personally, I make it soft enough to scoop out a spoonful of it whenever I want.
@francescrespo3057 There really isn’t a specific recipe. You just need one can of sweetened condensed milk and a bag of chocolate chips; semisweet chocolate chips is best. You warm the SCM as I described, then start adding the chocolate chips. I usually start with one cup of chocolate chips. Just keep taste testing until you get an amount of chocolate incorporated that tastes good to you. You can also add flavor extracts like orange, raspberry, lemon, etc. Use extracts sparingly and taste test as you go. It really is that simple!
