I can't tell you how many folks did Let's Plays of the original and criticized some its flaws without realizing that I'd fixed many of them in the update! Suppose I can't blame 'em. It is the version the Grumps played, after all.

Fun fact: Did you know that The Great Mr. Lange, one of the heads of the Sonic Utopia project, provided the voiceover for the hint rings in GHP? He's a really cool guy.

I consider Sonic Robo Blast 2 to have the best control scheme to play a 3d sonic game, Sonic Utopia also has the same control scheme where you control the camera with the mouse, move around with WADS, jump with space and spindash/roll with shift.
I am actually working on a 2D sonic game with the character design of the modern games (pixelized), and a lot of nods to the best Sonic games of days past. No fan fics. No OC bull. Something near on par with an actual Sonic game in terms of quality and presentation.
You know, Bear Grills never did get to laugh at RadicalSoda.
Then again there's two Sonic games that are glitchy abortions never did.

Well Lost World had a roll button but it did basically nothing except make it easier to get out from mud/slime
Sonic combined with Flandre for Embodiment of Sonic. Interesting.
You need try "One Girl Amy" someday. This is really one of the best Sonic's beat-em-up for this day. With fun story. (Difficulty level actually affect story) It's a bit tricky to run (game need's to disable DEP in windows) but really fun to play.
Ah One Girl Army takes me back. He should also do Neo Sonic Godspeed XD.
Actually I LOVE Neo Sonic Godspeed. It's hard to control, but story is cool. Still sad sequell was never finished. I also remember Sonic Time Attaked, Sonic CIty, Shadow of Chaos and Sonic Advanced, Sonic Nebulous... This is really old fangames, but still fun to play.

Knuckles uses his Knuckles Chaotix sprites in Time Twisted. His glide is kinda awkward in that game.
