I'd argue that english is a bit more effected by the internet than you made it up to be. There are many intricacies that would be missed if someone didn't spend a lot of time online. For example, saying "lol" doesn't really imply that you are "laughing out loud", but is more often used as a way to lighten the tone of a message. Or making something say "This sucks!1!1!1!1!!1!" With the 1's being a way to imply sarcasm. Even the use of seemingly correct punctuation can change the meaning. "I'm fine" vs "I'm fine."
I forgot to mention the whole ordeal of "thicc" vs "thick" and "succ" vs "suck" etc. Anytime you change a "ck" to a "cc" it suddenly has a sexual meaning.
I'm not sure that "language has become expressively richer as a result of the internet". I think its richness has remained the same, but that its richness comes from a more explicit visual style (with emoticons etc) and less of an implicit one (through the connotations of words etc).
So I think learning English through technology is important in order to pick up what is going on in the rea world. I can't imagine how technology and internet affect English language.
Think he kinda underplays or is not aware of the depth of some slang online. On some areas of the web it's almost a dialect and pretty unintelligible to noobs.
Crystal makes linguistics crystal clear!

Wonderful jingle.. u know what is it?
Does anyone have the written transcript for this video

ka gandang balbas! sanay ako din e meron nyan
Ambadikkannane Kaanavenam by Sindhu Premkumar (at least, according to the Shazam app on my iPhone)
I think "mediums" is also acceptable. He probably used it to highlight the multiplicity of communication forms. It's much more emphatic than "media".

Azza356 Ya
Oh God, he said *twittering*, I'm dead.
'to twitter' is an intransitive regular verb. As it implies an action, it can be used in the progressive modes (~ing). What do you think he did wrong?
Okay, what's his point? At first he says the internet has enriched the language, but then he doesn't recognize much change.
can i has cheezburger?
