Thank you Senator Shehu as always. This is simple, a senator in Nigeria today gets 130 million naira SUV, 22 million naira per month, and around 400 million naira for constituency project . No beating about the bush, this is the fact. So when they tell you that they have cut their basic salary of 1 million by 50%, they are effectively calling you fools. This is what Nigerians should be specifically protesting about.
He is/was the only Nigerian Senator to have ever spoken the truth about the salaries of the SENATE, despite the risk of being suspended then.

I am even advocating for my senator to be paid equally as the president of naija, because to us in our constituency, our senator is our president here. N21 million is not enough for my senator.

And I remember few years ago, baba Obasanjo said that senators were corrupt. One senator replied Baba Obasanjo by admitting that they the senators were corrupt, but Baba Obasanjo was their grandfather in corruption. It is sad that a typical nigerian see political office as an only means to become rich overnight.

If you're being paid that kind of money say ₦21 million as a senator what would you do with the money or what would you do in his stead?

Running cost is not emolument/salary. You are to retire it. If in any month, you don't expend it on the allowable expenses, you refund the balance.
