Democracy in India is not a myth, if it can be explained on the basis of its 3 nature, viz Democracy for the Rich and Affluent class, Democracy for the Politicians and Bureaucrats , and Democracy for the Common Man !
The opposing team should've just tried to find flaws within the definition stated by the Prime Minister, mostly they should've focused on the word "eligible". Because eligible does not equal to literate. Democracy does not require educated voters, although yes they should. But the point is they don't. Here eligible mostly means the adult franchise of a country. Now according to the definition stated by the Prime Minister democracy does exist. Instead the opposing team made it a debate about democracy is the best form of government 💀
True, but as the obvious logic from the opposing side would be 'while you can see many countries practicing democracy, how can you say that it doesn't exist?', hence we had to try and show that whatever these countries are practicing is not democracy, it was a difficult topic for the government side if you look at it this way.
@cadet1590 Yeah it's perfectly understandable why the government side defined literate people as eligible. I was just saying that the opposing team could've tried challenging that definition. But yeah tweaking the definition in their favor was definitely a smart play by the cadets.

@@wahidsajid4122 It isn't easy to give you a precise answer to that. I can understand that by 'English', you mean 'spoken English', as I see your 'written English' is quite good anyway. There is no alternative to practice, as far as any performing art is concerned. In my case, I got lucky to be from cadet college background, where there are multiple stage competitions, that sort of force you to get up on stage. Otherwise, watching English content on TV can help with the accent, and reading English books, newspapers and magazines can help with vocabulary. But to improve fluency, you must practice. You can practice with your friends or family members, or even with yourself. It might sound weird, but I remember imagining myself in hypothetical scenarios and rehearsing how would I speak if I was there. In the end, it's about what works for you, but you have to practice to get better.
