Also, I have a DJI drone and if you have one too you can press the camera icon and click quick shots and choose drone and you hit plus on your subject or yourself then set an altitude and click start and it will track you or your subject and start taking off as high as you set the altitude!

Great tutorial. I have done it in the past but with the drone actually moving vertically. You are absolutely right with your method, it's much easier to work with fixed height shots.
I'm wondering if it isn't easier to actually animate the camera instead of working with the scale and having to deal with those huge numbers.

Hey Motion Array! so I've tried this, and only thing I can't get right is, after applying the exponential scale to my keyframes, the zoom ends super abruptly, yours there's a nice ease out but I don't know how you did that... any pointers?

    • @its.me.reonne

This does not work for me at all and is really frustrating. All I have is the top layer of the composition sticking out on top of the bottom layer. How are you using scale from a null object to move THROUGH the layers like a camera? That doesn't happen by default. You've not enabled camera so how are your layeres not 'layered' ???
