    Lye railway station serves the Lye area of Stourbridge, in the West Midlands of England. The station is Managed by West Midlands Trains, who provide the majority of train services chiltern Railway also operates a small number of trains it is situated on the Birmingham Stourbridge line.
    Lye station was opened in 1863 by the Stourbridge Railway, on their line from Stourbridge junction to old hill. This was later taken over by the Great Western Railway, who incorporated it into their line to Birmingham.
    Lye station has the joint-shortest name in the United Kingdom.
    In 2021/2022 Lye had 49,792 entries and exits making it the 1855th most used station in Great Britain.
    Lye was formerly a village within the parish of Oldswinford, historically situated within the boundaries of the county of Worcestershire. It used to be Famous for the manufacture of nails, anvils vices, chain, crucible and firebricks.
    Lye the alkaline substance needed for saponification, could be made by pouring water over ashes from the fireplace. This was typically done in a special basin, called a leaching barrel or an ash hopper. For the fatty substances, colonies used animal fat left over from cooking or butchering.
