In a game I used to play, my character was an Angel that used Pentagram to summon evil simply to kill it and dispatch it to gain levels/power. He was known as The Guardian of the Light but was stripped of the title and was going to request the title "The Guardian of the Decayed". That's why he's talking about being a good individual yet summoning evil. He was being hunted and killed 5 players (pre League of Legends, in a completely different game) in one motion by brandishing a stave engraved with the spell "Touch of Death"; hence why at the beginning he "Swears Death to All".
Pentakill actually has two full albums out, although this is the only video they have. Some of my favorites from them are Lightbringer, Infinity Edge, and Blade of the Ruined King. They have a female vocalist for some of the tracks too.
The yordles (small people) have commited thousands of war crimes, especially the one named Teemo. So what the lich and the rest of the band are doing is indeed rightous and just.
Just for a bit of context about the singer in terms of league of legends. The character in game is known as Karthus, the Deathsinger (hey get it). He finds freeing people of life as his mission, a gift he can share with everyone. His singing heralds your death, aka, Deathsinger. So when he's talking about being the good guy, in the general sense, it's about being the herald to release mortal souls from the pain of life.
If you are referring to the song, than that's not quite correct, Mortal Reminder is literally Varus's backstory, nothing to really do with Karthus, but in general you are right about Karthus

What’s really interesting and cool is Sona (the pianist) has an ability in the game that increases her allies movement speed and she casts that ability on Mordekaiser as he’s about to do his guitar solo which is why he’s able to play the guitar really fast. Great attention to detail Riot

Some are saviors (Jak), others vigilantes (catwoman & John Wick), some are forced (ghostrider), other just don't want to admit they aren't bad guys (Riddick & Wolverine), then there are the ones who know the only way to do something right is by going outside the law (like deadpool). They are all supposed to look like real life musicians. I can't recognize them all, but the one with the hat is Slash, the drummer is Vinnie Paul of Panthera at least.
That video and I believe the entire second Pentakill album they released for free was to mark the Pentakill Kayle (the figure with metal wings that drops to the stage at the end of the song). It's the kind of casual flex Riot Games sometimes does because they have the money and the artists.
for the whole he's evil yet he's the guardian thing, that's karthus, he believes that the only true righteous state of being is in death and the living are nothing but cursed to their mortal existence, so he's evil but he believes he's doing the right thing by slaying everyone in his path and with his songs, raising them from the dead.
Pentakill band is an awesome metal band from league of legends. It actually has 2 full albums with amazing songs, it's a shame only this one has a video, but i heard this year a new Pentakill album is coming out so maybe more league of legends metal reactions in the future :D
Speaking of DragonForce, the former lead singer ZP Theart does a few songs for them. I believe he did Deathfire Grasp for sure, but I would have to look up which other ones he did.
A few are modeled after rock legends... Yorick (the guy who came out of the ground) is modeled after Slash from Guns'n'Roses and Audioslave. Olaf is modeled after Lemmy Kilmeister of Motorhead (RIP). I'm not sure if the others have an obvious reference.

Yordles are kind of known in-game as the spawn of the devil. Particularly teemo. So it's kind of fitting that they're singing about being the good guys and trashing the Yordle's place lol.
