To all those who might inevitably ask about tonight's Carolina broadcast that didn't watch and will have questions/comments, here's some context. The Canes' PxP voice Mike Maniscalco's MIL passed, and he was attending her celebration of life. Tripp Tacy and Shane Willis provided an "Open Ice" telecast, bringing in Cam Ward, Justin Williams, and Jack Drury to provide a more analysis-driven call. It's similar to what they did earlier in the season against Buffalo. It's a little rough, but it was incredibly fun.

I was listening on the first via radio and I was afraid something happened in Mike Maniscalco’s family. But hearing different broadcasts is unique.

Flyers played well and deserved the point. They could easily have won it. Respect to them. Jarvis Aho and Guentzel on the same line is sick. And then Svechnikov, Kuznetsov and Necas on the second line almost as sick. Fredzilla is back and the goaltending worries have evaporated. D-men factoring in on a lot of the goals. Brilliant coaching. Oh baby. Two points back of the Rangers, three points back of the Bruins. Fifth overall in the league. Momentum building headed to the playoffs. Yeah baby. Go Canes!
Watching Chatfields growth over the last couple years has been awesome. He went from being a liability 3 years ago to being a consistent presence that can throw some Burns-like snappers from distance. Hoping Rod can coach up Kuzy's bad habit of being completely useless on defense though. I know birdman is a forward but really could take a page from our other forwards playbooks on how to not let people speed past you for 1v1s with goalies. Philly put up a great game against us, reminds me of the Isles from last year, lots of upset potential for any team that doesn't take them seriously.

The normal play-caller was out so they end up with two color guys in Tripp Tracey and Shane Willis who end up just talking about whatever for a few hours.

Yes the PxP was a little dull, I'll admit as a Canes fan. However, I'd rather listen to this then the Bruins normal guy. I fall sleep when listening to him, pretty boring. Prayers to Mike, his wife, and their family. Can't wait to get ya back.

No. Our normal play-by-play guy, who does a great job, just lost his MIL and was attending a celebration for her. Most of the guys on this broadcast were legendary Hurricanes players who were filling in

Bro ain’t NO way you just blamed this on the refs… 😂 if anything they were in your favor all night. Like early in the game where Necas got tripped but they didn’t call it cause the Flyer was “playing the puck” but minutes later when Martiook does the exact same thing it’s a penalty. Show me ONE bad call that went Philly’s way.
this is the most out of pocket comment of the day. Flyers got handed a 5v3 and a few other powerplays. Chill my guy. If you should be mad at anything be mad at the goalie posts because they did more damage blocking shots than the refs. Flyers held into a good game against a Metro rival team. Take the point and be happy that your team played well.
