Hello Halogogo, you can see at 8:30 wiring to esp8266, the pin used is gpio5 and of course vcc and gnd.. you can see esp8266 at this address: i0.wp.com/randomnerdtutorials.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/ESP8266-WeMos-D1-Mini-pinout-gpio-pin.png?quality=100&strip=all&ssl=1
I have that part completed. How is the board that the esp sits on wired to the led's, it is hard to tell where the g, 5v, gpio wires go to power the lights on the printed board. Also what panels get the short dupont connectors and in what order starting with the first panel. I know I might not be making ane sense but the video does not provide enough of the final wiring.
in the previews message I sent you a link to esp8266 pinout where it is clear indicate the VCC, +5V, and GPIO5... anyway I've prepared for you this drawing and I hope it will be useful: www.bitandweb.com/img.jpg
I have a very similar project i completed before i saw this. Very interesting how we approached it almost the same.... I have one male and one female connector on each 7 segment block (so i can connect them in sequence easily). I used clear PETG for lenses, I did not use the "dots" in each segment - I used a central ":" to show the gap between HH:MM and put the controller in there. Your connector solution of soldering onto boards is better than mine. I have no screws in anything - only clips... Thanks
Hello and thank you to share your experience. I chose to use the dot in the display because in this way it is possible to use the digits also as decimal or thousands separator. Congrats for your project..😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hello, I love your videos..👍🏻👍🏻 I’m happy about your last purchase. Pls check videos on my channel, there are other display project smaller than this..👍🏻👍🏻
I am a little confused. I have all the led's wired in. I have the ESP and board all set. I need to know where the wires go from the esp32 to the led's. Also where does power come in, and as well where are the short plug connectors set. If you can post on the PCB site a few more pictures that might help me out. Teriffic project.
hello, at 08:15 you can see exactly how to connect the 3 pin. VCC, GND, and GPIO5 Really easy... here you can find a esp8266 pinout randomnerdtutorials.com/esp8266-pinout-reference-gpios/ if you need more info feel free to write another comment..
Hi, thanks for the great video! My son (14) would like to build a portable 2 digit laptime board in a carry case. Can you maybe provide some ideas how he could have a 5volt rechargeable LiPo battery with charging option built into the carry case? What battery, and components should he use to power the two digits as well as have it rechargeable? Thanks any help for him would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Andrew
Hello, I don’t think this should be the best choice… in a wide open space with light inside you need a really more powerful display with extra bright LEDs…👍🏻
This video is about esp8266. You can find source file in description. If you want use esp32 you can easly modify the source code using a library for esp32 instead esp8266 .h file inside the sorce code…
It is really nice. I am planning to do it. My printer bed size is 200X200mm. So I may have to reduce the prints to probably 70%. Also I am not good at programing the board. looking forward for follow up videos about that part. Thank you so much. You are a very talented person.
Hi, I really appreciate your comment. I'm sure you will be able to realize this project with your 3d printer. You can see in this video: th-cam.com/video/UV-C8EKaZS0/w-d-xo.html Ho to program it and in the description you will find the source code. I f you need help, just write a comment. have a nice day.
Interesting that the JST connectors (24 gauge) are only rated for 3A but if you light all those LED"s in WHITE you're going to be pulling a lot more current than they are capable of. Driving 148 x 5050 LED's so max brightness with white would be 7.4A. I also noticed there's no venting in the enclosures and those LED's are known to get hot. Cool design, but I feel it needs a little more work in the electrical portion.

Hello,
Do you have any source code that you can share to put it to work as clock?
What microcontroller did you use?
Thanks.

Very nice project!
Thanks..👍🏻
I now have a 3 D printer and I am going to try your projects, I will need to scale the design as I only have a 220 bed size

can you change out INCANDESCENT bulbs LED displays? Easily????
The only way is disconnect from power, remove the led and the short the led pin Din with Dout

Hello Andrew, this is not easy to explain in a comment, but it's a good idea for future tutorial video...
Very nice
From India
Thanks 🤟🏻
Howd you make the thing behind you in the beginning of the vid
hello, it is a screensaver... I can't remember exactly where I found it but try at: www.vecteezy.com/free-videos/background
Would you have the STEP files available for this. I'd like to build a smaller version of this (3 led segments/run)
thanks for sharing. does its brightness high enough to be used at indoor in daytime, like badmington hall.

Need code for ESP32 with auto install like WLED web installer, I can't find on youtube & website, other have only 2 led each segment on clock
Hello Neil, the leds sequence is the same as I show in the video? The only difference is number of led per segment?
what font did you use for the numbers?
Hello, I designed the numbers by myself..
bonjour jai baux chercher et jai rien trouver sur votre projet pour le esp32 ..... pour koi une video pour rien

Hi guys, what do you think about this project? how would you have done it? what would you have changed? let me know in the comments..😀💪🏻
yo0u should show the programming, building the boxes is the easy part.
@TRCCtv thanks for your suggestion.. I’ll make a video about that..👍🏻

Anyone else have missing audio for the middle of the video?

Welcome to the channel Sujit, you can subscribe to see new videos…🤟🏻🤟🏻😀
Me gusta su forma de trabajar lo que no me gusto son los puntos de cada esquina son innecesarios solo se necesita los en el medio

Arduino code
Hello, subscribe and stay tuned 'cause I'm going to make a specific video about Arduino code for this project..
No sourcecode or binary, no wiring...
makes an impressive project quite worthless. So sad.
There are many video on this channel where you can get source code:
