One of the guys I shoot with bought the starter package and loved it. It’s a great setup to start while you are figuring out what you want to shoot, as far as what category you want to shoot in, and whether or not you need specific holsters for that category. I bought the high performance package from Mernickle last year and couldn’t be happier. After looking at my holsters my Pard has decided he needs some like mine now😂😂. I would recommend them to anyone. They were a huge upgrade from the set I started with. It literally made me faster overnight with my pistol transitions. Couldn’t ask for better people to do business with either. They do a lot for our game. Hard to go to a big match anywhere in my area where they are not a sponsor of some sort.
I think you nailed it with your thoughts on the starter set. And, I’m a big fan of my High Performance rig as well (obvious by the fact I bought a second one, right? 😆)
Mernickle makes top notch holsters, I enjoy mine and used them regularly. I think I'm the only one who carries a single action at the LGS where I work. I never feel under gunned and get lots of inquires about my revolver and holster from customers. Thanks for a great video!

Great review! I ordered the Gunfighter after I watched the past review of your other holster. I just got my Outlaw Style Bandolier from Mernickle in the mail a few days ago and I'm really looking forward to shooting with that!

Jed, new viewer here. about to hop into collecting my own SASS setup. got a few Ubertis, a Pietta and a CZ stage coach on layaway. I've been looking at various holsters, and was glad to know that this would be a good starter belt setup to take to the matches without going too crazy with some of the belts I've been looking into.
I’ve gotten a couple complete rigs and some accessories from Mernickle. Great leather products. Recently picked up a pair of Colt ‘61 Navies. Figured since I won’t be shooting them a lot I’d just get a cheaper rig off Etsy. The phase you get what you pay for comes to mind.🤔
As I said in my review of their shotgun belt, I was reluctant to do the elastic - in fact I said “no thank you”. But, Howlin’ Wolf sent me one to try… surprise! I fell in love with it.

Been thinking of a rig for a Ruger Vaquero 45 with 5 1/2 barrel, also have a cimmaron 45 with 3 1/2 barrel on the same belt. Figure have the Ruger drawn by my strong hand and cimmaron by week hand. Then wanted to see about getting as many loops for 45 as I can get, carry enough to feed both revolvers along with my 94AE Winchester. Know some people that can build a rig so was going to see what they would charge to build a rig. Was also interested in making a cross draw for a Ruger SuperRedhawk 44 mag 9 1/2 barrel

It was a monthly match at RUCAS in Renton, WA. They were offering a different category that day (one that required a lot of on the clock reloads) and the stage writer also added in a bunch of extra shotgun. Not typical. But, a heck of a lot of fun!

After many years of thinking about starting, I have finally joined SASS (couple of days ago). Now I am in the market for a rig - so your recent videos have been very timely for me. I was hoping you would detail more of the differences between the Starter Kit and the High Performance rig you had previously reviewed. Does not have the t-nut tightening system on the starter set make a big difference and what other big features would I be missing? I tried the code JediTV22 and it wasn't working - is this valid for only certain dates? Thanks for your videos, I am learning a lot.
That code should be working now. I didn’t do a comparison because I figured this was aimed more at someone that just wanted that basic set to get started. 🤷♂️ But, it does have the screws to tighten the holsters to the belt and keep them in place. It is not metal lined like the High Performance, nor is it cut down around the trigger guard (for those “fast” gun transfers)… If you still have trouble with that coupon code give ‘em a call in the office and they can process your order that way (I was told it’d be active by the 15th… but I haven’t heard any follow-up from ‘em). -Jed 🤠

It depends on what I want to carry, single action revolver cross draw, shoulder holster for my 357, 9mm, IWB and OWB 9mm, and 1911, I do like my fast draw but its metal lined, would like one without metal like CFDA.@@JEDiTV

Great review!!! I ordered a shotgun belt from them last week. Wanted to try the elastic. My leather double loops just aren't cutting it.

Haven’t given ‘em much thought. I had a nice, tooled, rifle scabbard at one point, didn’t use it much so I sold it.
