one of my fav castlevania games and one of my fav games on the system the alacard path i likedas wellcause of the challenge of it syphra path ismore manage able its coolin that you can take mult paths
I enjoyed your musings on bats in NES games. Erin, you have a great sense of humor that makes watching your videos thoroughly enjoyable. Can't wait for more!
This game scared me as hell as a kid, but it was also the reason I started to study chinese chain whip, one of the weapons I like the most. I loved watching you play, the way you genuinely focus is admirable, it's something we shouldn't lose growing up.
If it weren't for the Medusa heads and bats, this and the others in the series would probably almost too easy lol New subscriber by the way and enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work! :)
I just find your channel and of course my first video of yours had to be Castlevania 3. Love this series and this video. I'm so happy I find this channel of yours. I'm now a subsricber.
How does every Erin Plays video I watch have a Devo reference in it somewhere? :) Well, I mean, it's a very cool thing because Devo is a brilliant and underappreciated band/satirical art collective whose work is as relevant in the 2010's as ever. DEVOLUTION IS REAL.
You had me at "...the most satisfying weapon you can use I think is probably is spread in Contra." If there was ever a subjective opinion candidate for transforming into an objective fact is this one.
i have yet to even lay my hands on this game. i hear its pretty tough. i'm sure everyone knows this by now, but Castlevania III is the game that the characters in Netflix's Castlevania are based on! great vid Erin! keep up the great work!
if you have Netflix you should def check it out, especially if you're a Castlevania fan! there are tons of little homages and nods to the game series. the developers def know what they're doing. only 4 episodes so you can binge it in about 2 hours. its well made and super good too!
Hi Erin.Subbed to you after I caught your comment on Gamesack's vid from this past Sunday.Checking out your channel and just wanted to say you got some good stuff going on here.Im looking forward to what's next. :)
Ah, Castlevania III... I still have yet to finish this. I made it to Dracula a few times when I was younger, but always died on his third form, got frustrated, and gave up. :( One of these days, though...
ran out ov documentories and the old screaming manbaby doesn't have anything new to watch so I'm here stalking the other half. thanks for keeping me company too
I love the Axe in classic Castlevania games because it is the only weapon that hits up, making it so much easier to kill those pesky flying enemies and monster on upper levels. That was fun to watch! You should play Ninja Gaiden sometime ;)
I'm still new to the 'Vania-verse, so I'm learning something new about the weapons all the time, haha. And yes, I love Ninja Gaiden so that will for sure happen some time soon. Thanks for watching! :)
It's good that you went Sypha's path. Because the only other major option is Alucard's path, which is twice as hard (especially stage 7, ugh). Btw, you can now change characters by pressing select.
This game was really good. My NES is trash and I haven't owned that game in years. I'm using the FC Twin for my NES and SNES right now. I bought 2 different copies of that game and it did not work on my retro console. I come to find out that not all games will work on some of them retro consoles. My advice is to anyone buying a retro console is to do your reasearch before buying one. Make sure it is compatible with the games you do have. Great video by the way. Once I start making videos and get another copy of this game, I will definitely review it.
Definitely my favorite of the NES Castlevanias! I usually took the Sypha path because I thought she was neat, even if she's not as handy as Grant or Alucard's platforming skips
Herb Cruz Grant is awesome in the Japanese version, where he has unlimited throwing daggers as his default weapon. The difficulty in the Western version of the game was also increased, making the secondary characters less effective than they were supposed to be.
Oooh, another Castlevania vid! I generally prefer the cross/boomerang as a sub-weapon when playing, but when they started adding in item crashes (Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night) I would use the holy water because I liked using hydro storm. Thanks for the great vid and spoopy ending!
22:26 "I know these platforms are gonna get me" (walks off ledge) Too funny! Good stuff once again Erin. In the beginning you mentioned how badass the music is. You should check out the soundtrack of Akumajou Densetsu (the JP version of CV3). It is enhanced by the VRC6 chip which allows more sound channels and whatnot.
I also forgot to mention that in the JP version the hunchbacks have a totally different sprite and look more like two legged demon things. Maybe they'd be a little less unsettling to you :P
I wasn't planning on making more than one video on this, but I wont be able to rest until I finish this. Currently deciding if I should do the rest as a video or live stream. Thanks so much for watching!
The music in this video game is awesome. Great play through, and you are very funny. Looking forward to more videos and live streams. 😬👻 will Erin get the power back on to finish this game? Guess we have to wait and see.
@@BriansManCave I actually find the first one, to be much easier than the third one. At least that's how I see this, since I've beaten it four times. The third one gives the player more of a challenge, in my opinion.
I hate the American version. On the other hand the famicom version of Castlevania 3 is one of my favorite games ever. However 4 is my favorite in the series
Castlevania 3 is amazing, especially with the multiple routes. Yeah the poor bats are just coming to say hello and you whip them in the face for no reason! WTF? You are the true monster here. Also I noticed you altered the video a little bit in editing, darkening it.
Yes, I'm really enjoying it so far! And there has to be a hack where the bats are power ups, right? I can't be the only person who wants this. In regards to the darkening, do you mean on the game footage? If so, I didn't change anything. It's just however the AVS looks going through my Elgato into OBS.
OOH. Yes, had to do a bit of color correction since I'm still not super awesome at lighting (at least I think it looks awesome while I'm filming and then when I watch it back I'm like "oh.") At least it goes with the spooky Halloween theme? Haha.
Hello Erin. Playing one of the hardest castlevania games is awesome! Thank you for the great video. I recommend playing Castlevania Rondo of Blood. Available on PS4 in castlevania requiem.
Erin, what top 3 games do you think got you into gaming. I loved watching my brother play NES games. For sure Castlevania 3, Metroid and Mario hooked me. How about you?
Ah, the hardest Castlevania game on the NES. Thank you, Erin! Too bad that it doesn't have the Contra 30-life code (There is a 10-life code, though). What would you say is the hardest game that you've ever beaten?
I didn't know about the 10 life code, interesting! Hmm, well without thinking too hard about it, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom came to mind because some parts are seriously out of control, haha. But when I beat the Joker in Batman, I'll probably change my answer :) Thanks Herbert!
Good stuff! Try the Famicom version if you can. Same basic game with some minor differences but better, richer music. Don't forget Dracula X on the PC Engine, my personal favorite Castlevania game.
Oh mer gerrrrrd! Gamer chick that loves castlevania.... that’s my heart right there!, Castlvania is probably one of my favourite series! And Castlevania 3 is wicked! Did you ever play through Bloodlines on Sega Genesis? Awesome game! Honestly you can’t go wrong with castlevania on the Nes or snes or PlayStation... they all rock!
Love this game! I played this one before I even tried the first Castlvania! Good thing too because its so much better and you don't rage quit as much :)
I kept waiting for you to accidentally discover how to access Syfa. And yeah, that potion is invincibility but it lasts for such a short time you can't ever do anything useful with it. All this reminds me that i have to try to beat this game taking the hardest (longest) route. I remember as a kid the Skeleton Knight fight redux always beat me...too many flying bones
Erin Plays "You know what #ErinPlays, now that you mention it, how's about you do a part 2 of the Playthrough of #CastleVania Dracula's Curse to conclude this game just so you could beat it at its own game & while you're at it: anychance that you could do a Playthrough of #Sega #Genesis #CastleVaniaBloodlines in a 2-part episode: part 1 with #JohnMorris & part 2 with #EricLacarde as well too please, deal?" 😐🏋️🤸💪✌️👌👍🙏💖💋👣👙👓👟🎮🕹️📱💻🎥🎞️📽️🎬📺📕📖📈🔮

This remains the one Castlevania I've never beaten.
Dear lord is it hard.
The hunchback’s were switched out with a more demon looking sprite in the Japanese version of cv3, just a little fun fact...
Girl, you got chops, I have to admit. Good to see someone keeping the retro flame alive!
Why thank you!
the world needs TH-camrs who play retro games like you
I’m trying to fill that void 😄
That video was great. 😆
Damn the thunder storms, they SCARE me 🤐 and power outtages almost gave me heart attacks. 😱
Thanks!!
Good selection of games you play Erin. I love anything Castlevania.
2:13 - 2:38 - I giggled a little too much at that. Great video, you were making some awesome progress; and as ever, with fun commentary.
Thanks for this Erin,i always like to see someone play better at a video game than me,i could never progress far in this one
I like how you play in Castlevania 3 you're so awesome keep the videos coming they are well appreciated thank you so much.
That ship with Medusa is hard as nails and it drove me crazy
Awesome! One of my favorite Castlevania games. The music and platforming in this game is straight up amazing. Cheers!
Awesome work was lots of fun to watch.
Now thanks to the Netflix series im picturing Trevor just saying "im Trevor F***ing Bellmont " when ever he gets hit .
If it weren't for the Medusa heads and bats, this and the others in the series would probably almost too easy lol New subscriber by the way and enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work! :)
What a horrible night...
To have a curse.
I just find your channel and of course my first video of yours had to be Castlevania 3. Love this series and this video. I'm so happy I find this channel of yours. I'm now a subsricber.
Thank you very much!
Erin shows us how not to play Castlevania 3 Dracula's curse and Lord Kayoss shows us how to play the game correctly. But it's still a great video Erin
Beating this game was probably my greatest accomplishment in life. Good times 🤔
Hooray!!!
Can’t wait for the next live stream!!
Favorite Castlevania of them all.
"Because wall turkeys and what not" - hahahah. If you said that to me on the street I'd know you were talking about Castlevania.
"I know these platforms are gonna get me."
Not THAT platform! XD
You had me at "...the most satisfying weapon you can use I think is probably is spread in Contra." If there was ever a subjective opinion candidate for transforming into an objective fact is this one.
Almost every subweapon (except for the knife) is decent, in this game.
iCach0 I played Contra too much. The lazer and flamethrower are objectively the best weapons.
i have yet to even lay my hands on this game. i hear its pretty tough. i'm sure everyone knows this by now, but Castlevania III is the game that the characters in Netflix's Castlevania are based on! great vid Erin! keep up the great work!
Cool, I didn't know that about the show! That's probably because I haven't watched it yet, haha. And thanks so much :)

Awesome game. My favorite of the series. I did two playthroughs of it on my channel!
so happy I found your channel :]
I had the original Nintendo Castlevania as a kid it was one of my favorite games.
Hi Erin.Subbed to you after I caught your comment on Gamesack's vid from this past Sunday.Checking out your channel and just wanted to say you got some good stuff going on here.Im looking forward to what's next. :)
This game is pretty tough. I like that you can unlock other characters, it's pretty awesome.
Ah, Castlevania III... I still have yet to finish this. I made it to Dracula a few times when I was younger, but always died on his third form, got frustrated, and gave up. :( One of these days, though...
never beat it either, but I did get to the end
it's always a good night for a Dracula's curse
ran out ov documentories and the old screaming manbaby doesn't have anything new to watch so I'm here stalking the other half.
thanks for keeping me company too
New game take a drink every time she jumps haha

Thanks for the tip! I haven't tried changing characters yet.
Just remember to never take on Alucard’s path unless you take Alucard with you. Otherwise block 7 is nearly impossible to clear.
This game was really good. My NES is trash and I haven't owned that game in years. I'm using the FC Twin for my NES and SNES right now. This game reminds me school, Fresh Prince and summers playing NES
14:15 , politely asking the skeleton to stop 😄
Definitely my favorite of the NES Castlevanias! I usually took the Sypha path because I thought she was neat, even if she's not as handy as Grant or Alucard's platforming skips
Positron Grant was trash. Alucard was awesome, though.
Nice! Yeah, I'd like to eventually go the other path just to see what happens. Usually my issue is too many games, but now it's too many paths!
+Erin Plays it's nice to have the password system so you can go through the different paths
Herb Cruz Grant is awesome in the Japanese version, where he has unlimited throwing daggers as his default weapon. The difficulty in the Western version of the game was also increased, making the secondary characters less effective than they were supposed to be.
yea and its a more manageble path her spells are powerful and willdestroy dracula
2:30 - Ability to use enemies' powers?
Have you ever played Castlevania Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow? (AKA SMB3Vania)
That's cool, I haven't played Rondo of Blood or Symphony of the Night (yet!). And I'm glad you appreciate the spoopy-ness! Thanks for watching :D
Erin Plays Most definitely have to try those two.
Best castlevania by far. Great video!

That top notch acting XD. Oh I love it, seriously.
I'm glad you appreciate it! haha. Thanks for watching :)
Medusa heads+flippy floor panels= arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!
The game doesn't get really ragey until near the end. I always liked getting Grant in the clock tower, even if that level can be tricky.
Great video,Erin. Can't wait to see what happens next.
I wasn't planning on making more than one video on this, but I wont be able to rest until I finish this. Currently deciding if I should do the rest as a video or live stream. Thanks so much for watching!
You should start teaching your own form of self defense that involves jumping around if provoked.
Just wait until you reach the stage with the falling blocks. That part pissed me off for weeks!
The music in this video game is awesome. Great play through, and you are very funny.
Looking forward to more videos and live streams.
😬👻 will Erin get the power back on to finish this game? Guess we have to wait and see.
Thanks so much, Jose!
Jose The Japanese version is even better. They used a special chip to enhance the music, which sadly was not used in the western versions of the game.
this music is like heavy metal jazz
So, eleven minutes in, and we learn that Erin digs on whips...
...right on. {:
I have beaten Ghosts and Goblins, but I haven't beaten this. Its so tough, especially in later stages.
My favorite Castlevania!
Geek House Mine also and my favorite video game of all time
for sure! part 1 is just hard... part 2 is completely different kind of game ... part 3 they got it right!
@@BriansManCave I actually find the first one, to be much easier than the third one. At least that's how I see this, since I've beaten it four times. The third one gives the player more of a challenge, in my opinion.

yea it is i will say i have never beten the game but did get all the way to draculas castle
Castlevania 3 never played it.
Really good Castlevania game 👍👍👍
It's actually a cross ✝️ and not a boomerang.😆 Also the spiders hurl more spiders at you.🕷 But either way great video 📹 Erin. 👍❤
Hello Erin. Playing one of the hardest castlevania games is awesome! Thank you for the great video. I recommend playing Castlevania Rondo of Blood. Available on PS4 in castlevania requiem.
Erin strikes that perfect balance between adorable cuteness and gruesome goth horror. What a babe...
Love your channel good job 👍
I love the old classics

SNES game
Thanks for watching my old videos! And no I haven’t played that one but I’d be down to check it out cuz it’s kind of weird looking haha
Medusa heads make me want to chuck a controller.
Awsome video, James Rolfe and the whole Cinemassacre crew should do a video with you asap :D
There's a lot more crossovers that need to happen first: Game Sack, Game Chasers, Metal Jesus, etc.
Soup or Nintendo? Totally agree...they should jump on the opportunity before she gets even more famous than they are :D
Such a tuff game.you should do bloodlines for a Erin plays
erin your channel is the female version of cinemassacre plays, good channel
you played realy good erin better than me lol
